In the latest installment of One Piece, Chapter 1131, Luffy’s adventure takes him to the mythical island of Elbaph, known for its giant inhabitants. Here, he encounters Loki, the notorious prince of Elbaph, setting the stage for riveting developments that unravel the history and traditions of this expansive new continent.
Luffy’s Arrival at Elbaph
The chapter commences with Luffy expressing pure exhilaration as he sets foot on Elbaph, captivated by the titan-sized landscapes surrounding him. His excitement leads him to prattle about the giants and their island, while the towering giant before him finds it difficult to interject.
Loki’s Proposition and the Beasts of Elbaph
When Loki finally demands Luffy’s attention, he introduces himself as the “Accursed Prince of Elbaph,” a title that comes with a staggering bounty of 2.6 billion Berries. Loki reveals that he has been imprisoned for six long years, shackled to the sacred Treasure Tree Adam with Kairouseki chains.
Loki then strikes a deal with Luffy: if Luffy frees him, he will obliterate any rival pirate crew Luffy requests. He describes the snowy forest, known as Elbaph’s “Underworld,”where rebellious giants face banishment and execution. Loki introduces the fearsome beasts of this realm—his childhood companions—which include a range of formidable creatures such as a polar bear, gorilla, wolf, snake, and mammoth, all poised to defend him.
Luffy’s Might on Display
Demonstrating his raw power, Luffy quickly overpowers the massive beasts, surprising Loki and his followers. In an attempt to provoke Luffy, Loki derogatorily refers to Shanks as a “chicken pirate,” which prompts Luffy to enter Gear 4 and throw a punch at Loki. The prince narrowly evades the blow, realizing too late that he underestimated the loyalty Luffy holds for Shanks, a miscalculation he soon regrets.
The Straw Hats’ Parallel Journey
Meanwhile, the narrative shifts to the rest of the Straw Hat crew, who are navigating their way towards Elbaph while evading a band of giants. Notably, Zoro ponders confronting them.
In a lighter moment, Brook gives Robin a haircut, reverting her appearance to that of the pre-time skip days, which evokes memories in the giants of Saul, her past connections. As the crew absorbs the breathtaking views of the colossal island, the chapter concludes ominously with a shout concerning Saul’s fate, hinting at foreboding events in store as they approach the land.
