After the Golden Week holiday, Shueisha’s publication break came to an end and One Piece fans eagerly awaited the resumption of the spoiler process for author and illustrator Eiichiro Oda’s manga series. Even though this is not an official release, the spoiler community for Oda’s manga has consistently proven to be trustworthy in the past.
Similarly, discussions among One Piece fans have been buzzing with excitement over the events in chapter 1114. This chapter brings forth numerous revelations that have a significant impact on the lore and worldbuilding. Among these revelations, the introduction of the Mother Flame weapon stands out, and fans can now appreciate its magnificence through the raw scans of the artwork released for this issue.
The One Piece fandom, always active and enthusiastic, has wasted no time in creating numerous captivating and thought-provoking theories about the Mother Flame. Among these theories is a particularly intriguing one which proposes that chapter 1114’s reveal of the Mother Flame signifies the completion of Dr. Vegapunk’s new body in all aspects except the most literal.
One Piece’s Potential Introduction of the Final Key to Dr. Vegapunk’s Return: The Mother Flame Weapon
During the Egghead arc of One Piece, viewers have been exposed to numerous instances of highly advanced technology and scientific methods through the character of Dr. Vegapunk. This began with the Iron Giant, an ancient robot that was being researched by Dr. Vegapunk when Luffy and his crew first encountered him at the beginning of the arc.
In recent chapters, we have witnessed this reveal being matched or surpassed. This began with the confirmation that although Dr. Vegapunk’s head and brain were severed, they are still seemingly alive. As seen in Punk Records, this is achieved by keeping the severed head and brain in a tank filled with an unknown liquid and connected to various tubes and wires.
In the most recent leaks for One Piece, fans have observed that the Mother Flame weapon is being kept in a tank that bears a striking resemblance to one housing Dr. Vegapunk’s head. This tank also contains multiple weapons and wires, much like the one used for Dr. Vegapunk. As the Iron Giant has become more active following Dr. Vegapunk’s demise, there is speculation that the ancient robot may now serve as Dr. Vegapunk’s new vessel.
Chapter 1114 appears to have brought Dr. Vegapunk’s new body to its final stage with the introduction of the Mother Flame. Although not officially confirmed, this conclusion can be drawn based on the overall context. While the Mother Flame is primarily utilized as a weapon, there is the possibility of it being used solely as a source of power. This is supported by its use in the Lulusia Kingdom, where it displayed immense firepower.
It is assumed that this energy generation has the potential for use in various other applications. This would continue to fulfill one of Dr. Vegapunk’s goals, as expressed during the Egghead arc, to supply the world with an endless supply of energy. Additionally, as previously mentioned, fans were first introduced to Dr. Vegapunk while he was working on some project involving a robot.
Despite the lack of solid proof in the series, it is highly probable that Dr. Vegapunk’s untimely demise after a long-awaited appearance is linked to the information mentioned above. Fans can only hope that Oda will provide an answer when the series resumes after the official release of chapter 1114.
