A translator of the popular manga series One Piece shared a post on their Twitter account, explaining that a character named Sarfunkel was recently introduced in the 19th cover story of the series. This story, titled “From the Decks of the World,”features Gaimon and Sarfunkel, whose name is a play on words based on the famous folk rock duo Simon and Garfunkel.
A well-known theorist also stated, “No way, the Redon reference to Simon and Garfunkel was actually a nod to Gaimon and Garfunkel. I can’t even be upset about it. That’s a comical way to interpret a hint.”
