The previous installment featured a Pacifista Mk. III seizing control of the Fabriophase from the CP0. The Bubble Shield, an invention of Vegapunk known as the strongest shield in the world, rendered him incredibly formidable. It was then revealed that Sentomaru was the one commanding the Pacifista.

While touching Kuma’s paw bubble, Bonney was transported to a field where she discovered a young boy who was crying and appeared to have been beaten. She recognized the boy as Kuma.

Upon returning to Vegapunk’s lab, the Straw Hats regrouped briefly before dispersing to search for Bonney and Vegapunk. The Satellites joined them on their mission.

Elsewhere, Morgans had come across the World Government’s plot to assassinate Vegapunk. Instead of exposing the truth, he decided to falsely accuse Luffy of kidnapping Vegapunk in order to receive a reward from the World Government. This angered Vivi, who knew Luffy would never do such a thing. Morgans brushed off her concerns, stating that he only saw the news as a form of entertainment and was not concerned with the truth.
