One Piece Episode 1118: Unraveling the Unsolved Mystery of Imu

One Piece has unveiled Imu’s first words in the latest episode of the anime, yet the mystery surrounding this character’s voice continues to leave fans bewildered.

In One Piece Episode 1118, Imu, the leader of the World Government and key antagonist of the Final Saga, makes a rare appearance. This episode marks the conclusion of the Egghead Arc as we head toward the anticipated Elbaf Arc, and true to Eiichiro Oda’s style, the villain remains shrouded in secrecy.

Imu’s appearances are infrequent, and their face is covered by a veil, making this moment significant since we have never heard them speak until now. Although Episode 1118 provided us with Imu’s first dialogue, the anime keeps the details under wraps, leaving the identity of the voice actor unknown.

In the credits, Imu is listed as ‘???’ in Japanese, maintaining the air of mystery surrounding their identity. This decision likely aims to avoid revealing the character’s gender, while also shielding the voice actor from potential leaks about future plot developments.

This revelation has only heightened the interest of certain viewers, with one comment on X/Twitter stating, “Best decision by Toei.”

Conversely, others have expressed frustration: “I can’t with these guys edging us bruh,” one fan shares, while another adds, “It’s always annoying.”

This isn’t the first time Mystery has appeared in One Piece; for instance, the voice actor for Kaido during a flashback in Episode 630 was also kept secret. It’s easy to forget this detail, as it was nearly 500 episodes ago.

Several theories are circulating regarding Imu’s voice actor; some fans speculate that Iemasa Kayumi, known for voicing Homunculus in Fullmetal Alchemist, could be involved. Others are suggesting Yumi Uchiyama, famously recognized as the voice of Puck in Re:Zero.

Until the official credits reveal the actor’s name, take every theory with a grain of salt!
