The episode opens with Cobra rendered speechless as he confronts Imu seated on the Empty Throne, realizing the existence of a clandestine force controlling the world. He recalls the name Imu as familiar, belonging to one of the First Twenty. Imu, dismissing the notion, elaborates on the meaning of the letter *D*, indicating it represents those who opposed the First Twenty. Yet, the descendants bearing this initial remain oblivious to their heritage, linked back to Queen Lily’s grave error from 800 years ago.

It becomes clear that Queen Lily had scattered the Ponegliffs throughout the world, with Imu suspecting her actions were deliberate, potentially confirmed by a letter she left behind. Imu urges Cobra to disclose Lily’s full name, at which point he realizes his fate is sealed within that chamber, revealing the former Queen of Alabasta’s name: Nefeltari D. Lily. Meanwhile, Sabo, lurking in the shadows, overhears this vital exchange.

Upon hearing the name, Imu fatally strikes Cobra with a spear-shaped tail. In a bid to protect Sabo, who retaliates against Imu and the Five Elders with his Fire Fist and Rook Check, Cobra, aware of his impending demise, implores Sabo to inform Luffy and Vivi that the Nefeltari lineage bears the *D* designation.

As Sabo recalls Luffy and Ace’s names bearing *D*, he is struck down, but with Cobra’s sacrifice, Sabo is granted a chance to flee. Before the king perishes, he reveals that Lily’s letter referenced the Ponegliffs adorned with the dawn flag.

Later, after Sabo escapes, the Five Elders and Imu see an eye peering through a wall crack—it’s King Wapol, who panics upon uncovering the dark secrets of the World Government and makes a hasty exit.

Meanwhile, Vivi, restrained and monitored by CP0 agents, is primarily focused on Shirahoshi’s wellbeing. She learns that Leo and Sai, who defended Shirahoshi from the unwelcome attention of Charlos, have pledged allegiance to Luffy. In a separate conflict, Fujitora, who aided the Revolutionary Army in liberating slaves, is engaged in battle with Ryokugyu.

When Wapol hastily enters the room, Vivi seizes the moment to escape with him. The episode concludes with Wapol’s wife, Kinderella, mistakenly presuming that Wapol is eloping with Vivi.
