One Piece Fans Remain Confident in Oda as Jujutsu Kaisen and Attack on Titan Communities Warn of Inevitable Bad Endings

One Piece and Jujutsu Kaisen have consistently ranked among the most popular and frequently discussed manga over the last decade. While both series have thrilled their fanbases in numerous ways, the endings of Shonen and other renowned genres frequently leave fans wanting more.

The pattern of disappointing manga conclusions, even amidst strong storytelling, has emerged since the controversial ending of Attack on Titan, followed by My Hero Academia, and most recently, Jujutsu Kaisen, which has garnered significant backlash for its conclusion, making it one of the most universally criticized endings to date.

In light of these unsatisfactory endings, several fans from the Attack on Titan and Jujutsu Kaisen communities have predicted that One Piece could be the next series to deliver a disappointing ending. However, dedicated fans of One Piece remain confident in Eiichiro Oda and his narrative vision.

The Ongoing Debate: Which Series Will Disappoint Fans the Most?

Numerous popular shonen anime series have concluded recently, including Jujutsu Kaisen by Gege Akutami and My Hero Academia by Kōhei Horikoshi. While the ending of My Hero Academia received mixed feedback, the conclusions of Attack on Titan and Jujutsu Kaisen have faced widespread criticism, with many fans expressing dissatisfaction.

Due to these endings, several fans have forecasted that One Piece followers will soon join the ranks of those lamenting a disappointing conclusion.

Reactions from Fans Regarding these Claims

Supporters of Eiichiro Oda‘s One Piece argue that doubting Oda at this juncture of the narrative is unfounded, citing longstanding plot arcs that have recently found resolution, such as those in the Egghead Island arc, as proof of his storytelling prowess. Some fans remarked that followers of One Piece are unlikely to concede if the ending is poor, akin to how they defend the innovation of Gear 5 over Ultra Instinct Goku.

“Doubting Oda at this point in the story is insane,”one fan stated.

“One Piece fans coped by saying Gear 5 was more iconic than UI. They’re going to keep coping with the ending too,”another fan commented.

Others noted that Oda’s love for the expansive world, its characters, and the narrative he has crafted leads them to believe that everything will conclude successfully. Fans highlight that Oda has meticulously planned the story for decades and has been crafting the manga for close to 25 years, making an unsatisfactory ending unlikely.

“Oda doesn’t hate his own story, so we should be fine,”one fan expressed.

“Nah, Oda has the entire ending planned out; there’s no way he can fumble that bad,”another fan shared.

While both Jujutsu Kaisen and Attack on Titan have concluded, Oda’s One Piece narrative is still progressing towards its climax and is currently in its final saga. The series has recently embarked on the Elbaf arc, with One Piece chapter 1128 scheduled for release on October 6, 2024.
