One Piece Fans: Tired of Dr. Vegapunk’s Message for Good Reason

One Piece fans were eagerly anticipating the release of chapter 1118 on June 24, 2024, but the spoilers for the upcoming chapter have already been leaked. During the recent stream, viewers caught a glimpse of Vegapunk, but unfortunately, no new information about the mysteries of the Grand Line was revealed.

The chapter also featured the Five Elders pursuing the remaining Vegapunk satellites after successfully halting the stream by impaling the Iron Giant. Additionally, Bonney was able to replicate Nika’s true form, as she now had faith in a future where Nika would exist.

Despite the brief return of Vegapunk’s message, which continued the discussion from before his stream was cut off, it was still the most frustrating aspect of the chapter. As anticipated, it did not provide any clues for fans and has left the fandom feeling dissatisfied.

The spoilers for One Piece chapter 1118 reveal that the chapter opens with reactions from different parts of the Grand Line, despite Vegapunk’s stream coming to an end in the previous chapter. The attention then turns to the Gorosei, who are on the hunt for the remaining Vegapunk satellites, Atlas and Lilith.

Meanwhile, Saint Marcus was relentlessly assaulting the Giant ships as they made their way towards Elbaf Island, struggling to hold their position.

Luffy once again utilized Gear 5 after his form had depleted from battling Saint Warcury. However, he also motivated Bonney to do the same, and she flawlessly transformed into Gear 5 by harnessing the power of her devil fruit.

Despite the surprise of some fans, Vegapunk’s stream briefly resumed for a few seconds, and it was revealed that his sentence continued from when it was previously cut off. However, much to the frustration of the fandom, the interruption was merely a ploy to build suspense and ultimately revealed nothing significant. The brief continuation of Vegapunk’s stream stated:

“The name is…..”

As Vegapunk continued to reveal the truth about the world during the chapters, the information he provided became increasingly scarce. One fan even complained that his message was repetitive, as each episode seemed to reveal very little new information.

On the contrary, a fan expressed their discontent that the upcoming episode would once again include a message from Vegapunk and suffer from interruptions, similar to the previous one.

“If yall haven’t read chapter 1117….DO NOT WORRY cuz chapter 1118 is the exact same,”a fan said.

“That name is” broadcast is gonna be interrupted again somehow. Vegapunk needs to stop spoiling the story,”another fan said.

“Back to square one,”another one said.

Fans were also frustrated that the main focus of each episode is increasingly shifting towards showing reactions from all over the Grand Line, rather than solely on Vegapunk’s message. In fact, one fan reported having to wait 10 minutes before Vegapunk’s message even began, and now they are once again left waiting for more revelations.

Finally, a fan analyzed the current situation and argued that it is beneficial that Vegapunk is withholding information, as it aligns with the theme of the final saga. The fan also speculated that the saga will likely last for a minimum of four years, and for such a lengthy duration, Oda must carefully consider when to reveal key plot points.

“When oda showed random character reactions for the 5th time straight,”a fan said.

“And oda made us wait 10 min before the broadcast started,”another fan sighed.

“We are not meant to know all the message right now lol… its called storytelling and we only get bits of it every time and then…peope saying this is the final saga…sure!…its oda buddy, this final saga will take at minimum 4 years to get into the final climax,”another one said.

Concluding Remarks

Many fans of One Piece hold the belief that accurately predicting future events in the series means spoiling the story for oneself. However, the recent return of Vegapunk’s stream has created a different situation, causing some fans to express their dislike for the additional suspense it may bring.

Rayleigh’s reaction to Vegapunk’s stream suggests that the conclusion of Vegapunk’s message may benefit young aspiring pirates. It encourages them to discover the secrets of the Grand Line on their own rather than relying on clues from others.
