One Piece: Fish-Man Island Remake Delayed, But Not for Long

The One Piece manga and anime are currently on a break, and this pause has now also affected the release of the upcoming filler episodes.

This beloved anime, adapted from Eiichiro Oda’s extended manga series, is taking a hiatus that will last for several months. Fans can expect the One Piece anime to return in April 2025, when the thrilling Egghead Arc will resume its run.

In addition to the anime’s pause, Eiichiro Oda is also taking a two-week sabbatical, meaning the Straw Hats are temporarily out of action both on-screen and off. Compounding this situation, the highly anticipated remake of One Piece: Fish-Man Island, which was intended to occupy the airwaves during this hiatus, has also been postponed.

Initially set to debut on October 27, 2024, the Fish-Man remake will now make its premiere on November 3, 2024. This one-week delay occurs due to the coverage surrounding Major League Baseball’s World Series.

This minor rescheduling is noteworthy as it means that there will be no new content from One Piece during that particular week, a rarity for the franchise which usually has either Oda or Toei providing something for the audience.

Another remarked, “It seems like baseball just gave One Piece a reality check.” Conversely, many fans are sympathetic, especially since Shohei Ohtani, the star pitcher of the Los Angeles Dodgers, hails from Japan.

One X/Twitter user humorously noted, “Even Luffy and the crew will be tuning in to watch Ohtani! They are huge fans!” while another added, “Ohtani takes precedence.”

Though it’s a peculiar time for the Straw Hats, fans can anticipate their return to action shortly.
