According to a leaker, One Piece will soon incorporate a heartbreaking backstory involving a young Kuma, but fans may not be prepared for it.
The One Piece anime is currently in the midst of the Egghead Arc in the Final Saga, with plans to soon showcase Kuma’s backstory. Kuma, a former Revolutionary, has gained a large fan following since his true intentions to aid the Straw Hats were revealed. Although initially seen as their enemy, Kuma sacrificed much to assist them.
Despite being turned into a Pacifista and becoming a slave, fans were unaware of his complete history and role as Bonney’s father until the Egghead Arc. Kuma’s backstory, which revealed the darkest aspects of the Celestial Dragons, came as a shock to the entire fandom.
The leaker of One Piece has revealed the character design for young Kuma, causing concern among fans about the length of his backstory. In a separate post, the leaker also announced that the voice actor for Kuma in his flashback will be Okamoto Nobuhiko.

One fan expressed, “I feel sorry for Kuma. I wish I could hug him when he was still a child and let him know that he is the greatest of all time and his life is valuable.”Another stated, “I am not emotionally prepared for this to be made into an animation.”
A third admirer expressed: “I haven’t even started reading this character sheet and I’m already feeling emotional.”
“While some may say that ‘anime onlys aren’t prepared’, it is likely that even manga readers will feel unprepared to see this animated,”remarked a fourth person in response to the tweet from MrElliot1210.
The latest One Piece anime episode, Episode 1105, covers Chapter 1073 of the manga. Kuma’s backstory is officially introduced in Chapter 1095. Based on the current pacing of the anime, it will be at least five months before the flashback arc begins.
