One Piece Manga Takes Two-Week Break Announcement

One Piece Manga Takes Two-Week Break Announcement

Since its debut in 1997, the One Piece manga has enthralled a vast audience globally with its extraordinary fusion of intricate worldbuilding, intense battles, gripping mysteries, and distinctive humor. Following the exhilarating conclusion of the Wano Arc, the series has entered its final phase, with the unfolding Egghead Arc presenting key plotlines that will be further explored in the newly initiated Elbaf Arc.

While this captivating pirate narrative is nearly flawless, the primary drawback lies in the manga’s sluggish pacing, attributed to its status as the original material. The creator, Eiichiro Oda, frequently takes breaks, resulting in a significant slowdown of the One Piece manga’s release schedule, which has also impacted the anime adaptation, pushing it to take a six-month pause.

Unfortunately, the circumstances are not expected to improve, as reports indicate that the One Piece manga will observe a two-week hiatus following the release of chapter 1130. Fans have recently begun to dive into the Elbaf Arc but will need to wait until early November 2024 to witness the ongoing adventures of the Straw Hat crew in the legendary Giants’ homeland.

Disclaimer: This article contains significant spoilers from the One Piece manga through chapter 1130.

One Piece manga to take a two-week break after chapter 1130

The much-anticipated chapter 1130 of One Piece is scheduled to be released on October 21, 2024, on Shueisha’s MANGA Plus platform. However, as per credible leakers like @pewpiece and @ScotchInformer, the forthcoming chapter is expected to be delayed due to the planned two-week break for the manga.

This development implies that after the publication of chapter 1130 in Weekly Shonen Jump issue #47, the next chapter won’t be available until early November, likely around November 11, 2024. It’s expected that initial spoilers may surface a few days prior to the official release.

Furthermore, this upcoming hiatus will result in the One Piece manga publishing just two chapters throughout October 2024. Understandably, this news has left fans feeling disappointed, particularly as the eagerly anticipated Elbaf Arc is finally beginning to take shape.

Although the extended break is challenging for fans, many manga readers have rallied in support of Eiichiro Oda, encouraging him to take the necessary time to develop the story while prioritizing his health. The demanding workload that Oda manages is immense, as he not only pens and illustrates the One Piece manga but also serves as an executive producer for Netflix’s live-action adaptation.

It is speculated that the recently announced six-month hiatus of the One Piece anime is also a result of Oda’s commitments to Season 2 of the Netflix series. Consequently, these obligations may lead to more frequent manga breaks than usual.

As of now, no official leaks for chapter 1130 of One Piece have surfaced. Fans can only look forward to an exciting installment that could soften the blow of the impending hiatus.
