One Piece May Have Already Explained the Reason Behind the Targeting and Destruction of the Ancient Kingdom

The latest development in the Egghead Arc of One Piece has revealed a new twist, as the posthumous broadcast of Vegapunk has begun to reveal information about the first pirate, Joy Boy, and the mysterious Ancient Kingdom. Additionally, it has been discovered that Vegapunk was actively seeking a solution to a significant global issue and glimpses of his groundbreaking invention, the Mother Flame, have sparked numerous theories among fans.

There are various theories surrounding the origin of the flame, with some proposing that it may have been generated through atomic energy and others hypothesizing a connection to Joy Boy’s hair. However, one recent fan theory has made an intriguing connection between the energy source and the demise of the Ancient Kingdom.

As the fans eagerly anticipate official explanations, this theory presents the manga as a clash between renewable and nonrenewable energy sources.

One Piece theory suggests that the Ancient Kingdom’s energy source led to its eradication

User @lexypanterra111 recently presented a comprehensive One Piece theory on X, suggesting that the sins mentioned by Vegapunk in his recent broadcast may be related to the use of both non-renewable and renewable energy sources.

Those who follow the manga know that Vegapunk’s ultimate goal was to provide free energy for all. However, this ambitious dream ultimately resulted in his demise, similar to the story of Icarus who flew too close to the sun. The World Government, viewing him as a danger, was responsible for his downfall and death.

Vegapunk’s motivation for seeking a sustainable energy source stemmed from his observation that the primary catalyst for wars in the One Piece world is the scarcity of energy resources. Jinbe shared this viewpoint. Vegapunk firmly believed that if he could uncover this ubiquitous energy and harness it in a usable form, it would ultimately lead to global harmony.

The fan theory suggests that Vegapunk had a goal of harnessing solar energy, which is supported by his act of looking towards the sky, likely at the sun, in chapter 1068.

During chapter 1114, Vegapunk disclosed his two transgressions: his desire to offer the world with unlimited energy, and his research on the Poneglyphs and prohibited literature in order to acquire information about the Void Century.

Vegapunk’s pursuit of knowledge and utilization of the free energy that had once powered the Ancient Kingdom, including the giant robot discovered on Egghead, drove him to delve into the censored aspects of One Piece’s history. However, in Luffy’s time, this sustainable energy is no longer accessible, prompting Vegapunk to seek out alternative sources.

The X user argues that Vegapunk’s primary wrongdoing is his reliance on non-renewable energy, specifically nuclear energy. This type of energy is generated through nuclear fission reactions, which have various drawbacks. One major issue is its scarcity, which does not promote equal development globally. Additionally, it presents significant risks, such as the potential for producing powerful weapons.

The World Government utilized Vegapunk’s creation, the Mother Flame, to activate the ancient nuclear weapon Uranus, as a means to defeat their enemy, the Lulusia Kingdom. This was ultimately Vegapunk’s biggest error.

The X user understands the Five Elders’ worry over Vegapunk’s lab, as interfering with the Mother Flame could cause a catastrophic explosion and potentially deprive them of their sole source of energy for Uranus.

There is speculation that Vegapunk may reveal that the disappearance of the ancient method of harnessing solar energy was intentionally orchestrated by the enemies of the Ancient Kingdom, namely the World Government. According to this theory, the World Government battled against Joy Boy and ultimately submerged the Ancient Kingdom under the sea, leading to the rise in water levels.

Therefore, the World Government, consisting of twenty nations at the time, harbored feelings of envy towards the advanced Ancient Kingdom and ultimately brought about its destruction.

It is theorized that the Ancient Kingdom’s name could be associated with the sun, and that Joy Boy may have been the origin of this sustainable energy due to his connection with the Sun God Nika. The concept also proposes that this energy could have facilitated teleportation, as seen when Vegapunk vanished from Fabriophase, and potentially even enabled the dispersal of the Poneglyphs throughout the world.
