One Piece: Possible Confirmation of Another Vegapunk Death in Chapter 1118

One Piece chapter 1118 is scheduled to come out on June 24, 2024. Leaks for the chapter revealed that the Gorosei are targeting the remaining Vegapunk satellites. Another interesting tidbit suggests that one of the satellites may have malfunctioned, providing a potential escape route for the Straw Hat Pirates.

The chapter depicted the Iron Giant’s despair as he submerged into the ocean, desperately searching for Joyboy. The peak of the story revealed Bonney’s true powers as she transformed into her Nika form and joined Luffy in his pursuit of Saint Marcus.

Upon impaling the Iron Giant, the Gorosei inquired Vegapunk York about the remaining satellites that were still functioning. She confirmed that only Vegapunk Lilith and Atlas were linked to Punk Records, suggesting that Vegapunk Edison may have perished while creating the clouds for the Straw Hats to safely descend into the ocean.

Based on the spoilers for One Piece chapter 1118, the chapter opened with the Iron Giant submerging into the ocean while urgently calling out for Joyboy and inquiring about his whereabouts. The focus then turned to Dressrosa Kingdom, where the residents were seen responding to the sudden halt of Vegapunk’s transmission.

Afterward, the group made their way back to Egghead Island, where the giants joined forces with Monkey D. Luffy on their ship. At the same time, Bonney managed to evade the Marine forces by utilizing her devil fruit abilities to transform them all into infants.

After indulging in a feast on the giants’ ship to replenish their energy, the group was interrupted by Saint Marcus flying towards them, determined to prevent anyone from escaping. Luffy activated Gear 5 to confront the Gorosei and urged Bonney to use her Distorted Future once again. To their surprise, she flawlessly transformed into Nika and joined Luffy in charging towards Saint Marcus.

After the Iron Giant was impaled, the Gorosei inquired of Vegapunk York about the status of the remaining Vegapunk satellites. Upon checking the satellites accessing the Punk Records, York confirmed that only Vegapunk Lilith and Atlas remained operational. This seemed to indicate that Vegapunk Edison had passed away.

In chapter 1112, Vegapunk Edison (Punk-03) entered the Frontier Dome of the Labphase to test if the Thousand Sunny could pass through without being burnt. Once he successfully passed through, Edison extended the clouds towards the Labophase, making it easier for the Thousand Sunny to also navigate through the Frontier Dome.

Tragically, his efforts to extend the clouds were limited as Saint Nusjuro had already cut off the lower half of Labophase upon his arrival. Despite his severe injuries, he began urging everyone to flee from the scene.

In chapter 1116, he made his final appearance where he warned Stussy to flee. Despite Stussy’s insistence that Edison let her and Kaku leave together, as they were teammates, he stood firm in his decision.

Edison regretfully acknowledged his mistake in dragging her into the chaotic situation and urged her to discover a purpose to continue living. With Vegapunk York’s confirmation that only Lilith and Atlas remain alive, it could be assumed that Edison, no longer associated with Punk Records, has passed away.
