One Piece: Sanji Fans Disappointed with His Depiction in Recent Anime Scenes

The latest episode of One Piece, episode 1107, includes an additional scene that has disappointed fans of Sanji. Many of them have taken to social media to express their frustration about it.

Just two weeks ago, One Piece fans were left disappointed when the anime misinterpreted Sanji’s speed feat. Toei Animation Studio has been responsible for animating One Piece since 1999, but due to restrictions on filler content, the pacing of the anime has been significantly slowed down.

To achieve this, fans often seek out additional, unofficial content. However, many Sanji fans express disappointment with Toei’s portrayal of his character through prolonged comedic moments and shorter fight scenes. The animators themselves have been secretive about their role in these Sanji scenes, causing some fans to feel personally affected by the changes. This is particularly frustrating for some, as Zoro has consistently received exceptional animation.

Despite having previously faced mixed reactions, fans are once again divided over Sanji’s behavior in the manga, where he asks Stussy to refer to him as a dog in one panel. However, the anime adaptation elongates this scene, showing Sanji walking and barking like a dog for a few seconds. While this has raised concerns among some Sanji fans, the One Piece fandom remains divided as he continues to face further allegations.

“According to one fan, Toei may not have a genuine hatred for Sanji, but rather they simply find it convenient to extend scenes involving him. Nevertheless, this can be quite bothersome.”

In response to a tweet by another fan, it has been suggested that Toei should consider reducing their staff, as they seem to be straying from the original story and intentionally portraying Sanji in a negative light. There are concerns that they may even have him act out of character and display feelings for Bonney, a scenario that was not present in the manga.

Another Twitter user, ThePostMan_120, also shares this sentiment, stating that this issue is not exclusive to Sanji and is often seen in fanservice scenes for female characters. They believe that the issue lies in Toei’s use of irrelevant content to fill up runtime, rather than Sanji’s portrayal. They express hope for a better handling of this issue by Wit.
