One Piece: when will the manga resume after the long break?

One Piece manga entered a long publishing hiatus after chapter 1111: when will chapter 1112 be released?

Every week, One Piece readers are there to witness the continuation of Luffy’s adventures. The story written and drawn by Eiichiro Oda is as long as it generates excitement among fans, and each new chapter brings its new batch of surprises and delight.

The manga arrived at the climax of the Egghead arc: the giants have arrived on the island to help Luffy and his crew escape, but the entire members of the Gorosei have also just landed, summoned by Saturn. It was an opportunity for fans to discover their true appearance, in addition to learning the secrets behind their powers.

But we’ll have to wait to lay our eyes on the sequel, because the One Piece manga has just entered a several-week hiatus. We will explain everything to you.

When will the One Piece manga resume after the long publication break?

One Piece Chapter 1112 will not be released until April 21 on Manga Plus. It will be available from 4 p.m., then will be followed by another one-week break, this time due to Weekly Shonen Jump magazine’s holidays.

Why did the One Piece manga enter a long publishing hiatus?

Author Eiichiro Oda preferred to put his manga on pause following the death of Akira Toriyama, the creator (among others) of Dragon Ball: the announcement of his death affected him and pushed him to prioritize his health.

The mangaka has in fact affirmed, in a note translated into English and published on social networks, that the disappearance of Toriyama forced him to question his own rhythm of life. Oda explains: “I was particularly worried about my health. I’m not sick, by the way. But I thought it would be better to take a break to take care of myself, and maybe take some time to think about what (the) One Piece is.”

The author’s schedule is particularly busy, despite the regular breaks to which he is entitled every three weeks.

Beyond the writing of One Piece, the story of which entered the final saga, we must also count on his role as supervisor for the live-action adaptation of the Netflix series.
