One Piece’s Dark King Rayleigh and the World’s Fate

One Piece fans have witnessed the series fully embodying its Final Saga title in recent months, delivering thrilling revelations, rich lore, and long-awaited backstory. These include the revelation of the Gorosei’s identities and powers, the introduction of Dr. Vegapunk, and other exciting developments.

Over the past few weeks, Dr. Vegapunk’s presence in the series and the Egghead arc has reached a climax with the beginning of his global broadcast and his message about his research. This has resulted in the latest major revelation in One Piece, which reveals that the world in the series will eventually sink into the sea.

Similarly, fans of One Piece have started delving into previous story arcs of the series to uncover any potential hints that may have predicted this revelation. Although numerous intriguing connections have been discovered, the one involving the former right-hand man of the Pirate King stands out as the most thrilling and blatant.

Silver Rayleigh’s Ship-Coating Business Foreshadows the World Flood in One Piece

In the Sabaody Archipelago arc of One Piece, viewers were introduced to Silvers Rayleigh, the right-hand man of the former Pirate King Gol D. Roger. Together with Roger and their crew, they sailed the Grand Line and were the first to reach its final destination, Laugh Tale. It was here that they uncovered the legendary treasure and uncovered the secrets of the world and the Void Century.

After Roger’s execution and the conclusion of their journey, Rayleigh relocated to the Sabaody Archipelago and established a business specializing in ship-coating. This process involves enveloping a ship in a bubble-like membrane that can be inflated and utilized to navigate under the Red Line and reach Fishman Island, ultimately leading to the New World. Devoted followers of the series may recall that Rayleigh personally coated the Straw Hats’ vessel to assist them in successfully completing their voyage.

This was also a significant hint towards the future of the series’ world, potentially foreshadowing Rayleigh’s role as a ship-coater. Although it has not been officially confirmed, it appears to be a clever tactic from author and illustrator Eiichiro Oda to teasingly hint at what is to come in a subtle manner.

It would be logical for Rayleigh to utilize his knowledge to become a ship-coater, given the current storyline. Despite the recent revelation from Dr. Vegapunk that the sea level will only increase by 1 meter in the latest series spoilers, it is possible that his estimation is incorrect. As he has admitted, he lacks information on the Void Century and other subjects currently being discussed.

Similarly, Rayleigh could have a thorough understanding of the severity of the flooding, leading him to enter the ship-coating industry with the goal of rescuing as many individuals as possible. Given that Fishman Island has the ability to support human life despite its location underwater, it is possible that he plans to transport those he rescues there. Additionally, his decision to retire in the Sabaody Archipelago, which is situated near Fishman Island, further supports this idea.

Despite this article being written speculatively, Rayleigh’s exact knowledge has not been officially confirmed. However, the connections are apparent and almost too obvious to be dismissed as mere coincidence.
