One Piece’s Mother Flame and the Lunarian Genocide: Saturn’s Reaction Proves Connection

On May 13, 2024, the release of One Piece chapter 1114 introduced the infamous weapon, Mother Flame, which had been utilized to destroy the Lulusia Kingdom. In a desperate attempt to halt Dr. Vegapunk’s live stream, Saint Saturn once again turned to this weapon.

In the chapter, Dr. Vegapunk delved deeper into the secrets of the world and the Grand Line, and he also revealed the long-hidden figure of Joy Boy to fans. Interestingly, while he was discussing with the Grand Line, the Five Elders were attempting to silence his revelations.

One method they utilized was called Mother Flame. Despite being unable to halt his power, Saint Saturn’s response upon seeing Mother Flame was rather uncertain, almost as if he feared using it himself. This could potentially be linked to the inner fire of Mother Flame, which bears a striking resemblance to that of the Lunarians.

In One Piece chapter 1114, Dr. Vegapunk disclosed the two transgressions he committed while the Five Elders searched for a means to halt his broadcast. The episode’s climax featured the scientist unveiling the existence of Joy Boy during the Void Century, as the Five Elders turned to Mother Flame in order to eliminate the Transmission Transponder Snail.

Saint Saturn bravely assumed the responsibility and made their way into the room where the weapon was stored. Sadly, even after successfully destroying the Transmission Transponder Snail, the stream from Dr. Vegapunk persisted.

After entering the room, Saint Saturn’s reaction to witnessing the weapon was peculiar – it seemed as though he was afraid of its powers.

Despite being one of the most powerful figures in the World Government, it is unlikely for Saint Saturn to be afraid of anything unless it is beyond the realm of imagination. This could possibly be due to the connection between the Mother Flame and the Lunarian race in One Piece.

The Mother Flame is comprised of a compact flame confined within a device, bearing a strong resemblance to the fiery display seen during the epic showdown between King and Zoro in the Wano arc.

King’s identity as a member of the nearly-extinct Lunarians was unveiled. The Lunarians are known for their distinct features including wings, dark skin, and a flame that burns on their backs, which King skillfully utilized in combat. This seemingly small flame was capable of producing powerful attacks, as demonstrated in King’s battle against Zoro, highlighting its limitless potential.

One possible explanation for Dr. Vegapunk’s decision to utilize the Lunarian flame as the Mother Flame’s source of power is that it may have reminded Saint Saturn of the extinct Lunarian race, thus explaining his unexpected reaction. This could also be the reason for the strange reaction of Saint Saturn upon witnessing the Mother Flame, as it could have reminded him of the Lunarians, who are not mentioned in the World Government’s records.

The meaning behind A&Mu and S-108

The Mother Flame, as depicted in chapter 1114, bears two inscriptions that may establish a connection between the weapon and the near-extinct Lunarian race, suggesting a possible link between the two.

Both of these are fabled lost continents that possessed advanced technology for their time. They also had access to boundless sources of power, which they utilized for scientific exploration, similar to the Lunarian Flame mentioned in One Piece.

The writing “S-108″is commonly associated with Hassium, an element with an atomic number of 108, as well as the temperature at which organ failure occurs in the human body (108 degrees Fahrenheit). However, the true significance of this writing may be connected to the Buddhist concept of Nirvana.

In the Buddhist belief, the number 108 holds great significance as it represents the 108 earthly desires that must be overcome in order to attain the state of Nirvana. This idea is also reflected in the Lunarian culture, where a similar concept exists in their pursuit of the flame, which can only be achieved after undergoing a process similar to that of Nirvana.
