As the Final Saga of One Piece progresses, previously unknown information about the world of Monkey D. Luffy has been revealed. With the next major arc approaching, the Straw Hats are eagerly anticipating their journey to Elbaf, the island of Giants, where they are sure to encounter unexpected surprises.
A recent fan theory speculates that the Straw Hats may soon face unexpected challenges from the Revolutionary Army. Notorious for being the main opposition to the World Government, the Revolutionary Army may now also pose a danger to the pirate crew.

One Piece fan theory speculates an attempt on Luffy’s life
The main focus of Vegapunk’s message in One Piece is on the World Government’s possession of an ancient weapon. This weapon has the potential to cause a catastrophic event that could result in the entire world sinking into the sea. Additionally, Vegapunk mentions the legendary pirate Joy Boy, who fought against what is now known as the World Government in a great war.
Nevertheless, according to a fan theory proposed on Reddit by u/BlisteringSky, it is believed that the message holds a deeper meaning that could potentially cause a divide between two groups who are currently considered to be united in their fight against the World Government.
The two groups involved are the Revolutionary Army and the pirates. Based on the theory, Dragon, the leader of the Revolutionary Army, will reach the conclusion that his organization must locate the One Piece before the pirates do, after being influenced by Vegapunk’s speech. It appears that he may even go against his own son, Luffy, as the fate of the entire world rests upon the outcome of what is uncovered at Laught Tale.
While Dragon has frequently appreciated Luffy’s achievements, their connection has remained distant, possibly due to Dragon’s uncertainty in Luffy’s ability to make sound choices. This may stem from Luffy’s unpredictable demeanor and disregard for being a hero or a morally upright individual.
The Revolutionary Army has declared war against the World Government and the situation continues to escalate. In addition, Sabo, their chief of staff, has uncovered a highly guarded secret – there is a hidden ruler who occupies the Empty Throne. In order to maintain the secrecy of this revelation, the World Government is willing to take extreme measures, including the destruction of the kingdom of Lulusia.
The fan theory also suggests that the Revolutionary Army will uncover the truth about Luffy’s Devil Fruit, the Hito Hito no Mi Model: Nika, by studying the Poneglyphs, examining Vegapunk’s research, or finding other methods. This could potentially unlock the true power of the One Piece.
Despite the Revolutionary Army’s determination to save the world from the dangerous plans of the World Government, they may come to the realization that Dragon is the only one capable of achieving this goal. As a result, they are faced with the difficult decision of acquiring Luffy’s Devil Fruit, even if it means seeking help from the Blackbeard Pirates and potentially harming Luffy in the process. However, this plan is ultimately doomed to fail.
Despite the interesting nature of this fan theory, it seems unlikely that Sabo would go to such extremes as killing his own brother. He is known to be level-headed and cares deeply for Luffy, making it difficult to believe he would take such drastic measures, especially after already experiencing the heartache of losing Ace. However, it is possible that the Revolutionary Army may view One Piece as more of a rival than an enemy.
The resolution of the race and the true identity of the One Piece are still unknown. The series may have already dropped subtle clues, which will only make sense in retrospect once the treasure is revealed. Alternatively, it could be something entirely unprecedented that astounds everyone.
