One Piece’s World Government creates their own worst enemy in chapter 1118

This week, reputable sources leaked the latest spoilers for the highly-anticipated official release of Eiichiro Oda’s best-selling manga, One Piece. These spoilers revealed some truly shocking and thrilling developments from the upcoming issue, the most noteworthy being Jewelry Bonney’s long-awaited use of her Devil Fruit’s true abilities.

By using her Toshi-Toshi no Mi fruit, she is able to transform into a clone of Sun God Nika, resembling Luffy’s Gear 5 form. Although her powers and abilities were not fully showcased in this form in the issue, it hints at an thrilling and action-packed finale for the Egghead arc.

Despite this, the recent development in One Piece serves as a setback for the World Government as they have inadvertently created their own enemy in Bonney. Although some viewers may be perplexed by this revelation, the series clearly emphasizes the World Government’s involvement in Bonney acquiring these abilities.

World Government’s Latest Blunder: Costliest in One Piece Yet

In chapter 1103 of One Piece, Saint Jaygarcia Saturn, a member of the Gorosei, confesses to captive Bonney that he is responsible for giving her Devil Fruit abilities. He discloses that they performed a unique experiment on an infant, granting them the powers of a Fruit without the need for consumption, using an administered extract.

He acknowledges that the experiment was successful, but deems the Fruit unnecessary due to its reliance on the user’s ability to envision specific future events in order to transform. As one’s understanding of reality expands, their ability to envision the future also becomes more limited, making the Fruit less effective.

However, just before this explanation, Saturn had also mentioned that Bonney was unable to tap into the powers of Nika because she had not yet acknowledged Luffy as Nika. Fast forward to the latest spoilers of One Piece, where fans witness Bonney confidently utilizing her Fruit’s abilities to transform herself into a replica of the Sun God Nika. This means that Bonney has successfully overcome the supposed fatal weakness of her Devil Fruit, which Saturn had bestowed upon her during her childhood.

The World Government has unintentionally created a second opponent for themselves through Saturn’s experiments on Bonney, ultimately making them their own greatest adversary. This is evident in their fear towards Luffy’s Devil Fruit awakening, which granted him access to Gear 5 and the title of Sun God Nika. Dealing with one Nika was already a significant challenge, but now they must face a second one due to the actions of the World Government.

Despite the comical mistake made by the World Government, this development is still extremely thrilling. To add on, Saturn admitted to Bonney that he had conducted experiments on his own mother, resulting in both her and Bonney acquiring Sapphire Scale. This means that Saturn bears direct responsibility for Ginny’s death, as well as indirect responsibility for Kuma’s sacrifice to save Bonney from the disease.

In addition, not only has the World Government created a formidable foe that instills fear in them, but they have also provided this foe with a strong motive to hate them. This ironic turn of events adds a humorous twist to the One Piece narrative and intensifies the impending climax of the Egghead arc.
