One Punch Man Fans Are Anxious After Season 3 Update

Rumors about One Punch Man season 3 suggested that the anime would be directed by studio MAPPA, but a recent publication has denied the information – and opinions are divided, even very worried.

One Punch Man is a superhero anime and manga franchise, loved for its humor and action. Saitama, the main character of the series, doesn’t look like much: no one takes him seriously, so much so that he always finds himself in improbable situations despite his immeasurable power.

The first season of the anime aired in 2015, in incredible animation by Madhouse, while the second season in 2019 was picked up by JC Staff. The announcement of a third season already dates back to 2022, and even if the name MAPPA had never been officially mentioned, many on the web thought that the studio of Attack on Titan and Jujutsu Kaisen would take over.

However, a recent update for season 3 revealed that it was ultimately JC Staff who was chosen to animate the continuation of Saitama’s adventures. And while some have expressed relief, many fans say they are worried on social media… or even have already given up on the idea of a quality season.

Season 3 of One Punch Man will be done at JC Staff.

Jujutsu Kaisen (@Go_Lover), who regularly shares news updates on X/Twitter, recently posted the information, “Luckily, One Punch Man Season 3 is not animated by MAPPA (but by JCStaff).” It was enough for Internet users to come and express themselves in comments.

Such a publication could have been surprising a year earlier: why want to avoid the MAPPA studio, already behind very big successes such as the finale of Attack on Titan, or season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen?

It is precisely the latter which caused the problem. Or more precisely, it was during the broadcast of the last episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen that internal problems at the company were revealed on social networks, involving poor working conditions at MAPPA, for the employees behind the anime.

Some One Punch Man fans say they are relieved at the idea that the animated series is not supervised by a studio which would risk botching certain scenes. However, the news of the return of JC Staff does not rejoice everyone either, especially for flaws in the animation of season 2 of the story of Saitama, known as lazy, especially compared to that of the first season.

“NOOOOO MADHOUSE WHERE ARE YOU THEY’RE GOING TO RUIN EVERYTHING”

“NOOOOO NO MERCY AGAIN”

“I don’t know this studio well but please tell me the animation won’t be compromised/Let’s say they animated season 2 lol.”

With the upcoming season expected to feature some of the biggest fights, fans are ready to take up arms: JC Staff won’t have to repeat the mistakes of the previous season for One Punch Man.
