One-Punch Man manga takes a break again

Despite the lengthy hiatus of One-Punch Man manga, fans were not taken aback.

The creator of the One-Punch Man manga, Yusuke Murata, has declared a temporary break of two months. This decision came after the publication of Chapter 202 on June 19. The manga will resume on August 22.

Despite this news being a disappointment for fans, it is not unexpected. The manga has a reputation for taking long breaks. In addition, the series has been publishing redrawn chapters since February, leaving the story at a standstill.

The release of Chapter 202 marks the end of the redrawn chapters, indicating that new material will be coming in Chapter 203. However, due to the extended hiatus, fans will have to wait until late August for its return.

Despite this, the mangaka’s decision to take a break is met with support from many fans. Murata’s One-Punch Man manga features stunning and intricate art, showcasing the immense effort he puts into each panel. It is understandable and necessary for him to take breaks to prioritize his health.

“As we wait, one user on X/Twitter wrote, expressing concern for Murata sensei’s well-being. Another user joined in, stating that Murata sensei deserved a break as things have been going well lately. A third user mentioned Gege Akutami, creator of Jujutsu Kaisen, and added that it is a difficult time with both Gege and Murata sensei facing challenges. They also expressed hope for Murata sensei’s well-being.”

One person on Reddit also shared their opinion, stating, “I would prefer for the creators to take their time and enjoy the process rather than treating it as a task to rush through. Hopefully, the break will give them a chance to recharge and come back even stronger.”

Despite the news being received positively by many, there are also some who are not pleased. They have raised concerns about the series’ slow pacing, attributing it to the frequent redraws. A reader even commented on X, stating, “Is it going on hiatus? It feels like it’s already been on hiatus since February.”Another reader added, “The chapters are being fully redrawn…and now a hiatus? This is too much.”

Many readers eagerly anticipate the release of the webcomic while the manga is on hiatus. Additionally, there is also a curiosity for updates on One-Punch Man Season 3. However, no new information has been disclosed thus far.

Take advantage of One-Punch Man’s extended break to catch up on other popular manga series. Stay current with the latest chapters of One Piece (Chapter 1118), Boruto: Two Blue Vortex (Chapter 11), Jujutsu Kaisen (Chapter 263), and My Hero Academia (Chapter 426).
