On Friday, May 3, 2024, the official website for the One Punch Man season 3 television anime series released a new “Hero Visual”featuring Genos, a beloved character from the series. This is the most recent addition to the series of Hero Visuals, with a new one being unveiled every month and designed by Shinjiro Kuroda, the character designer for season 3.
Currently, there have been two additional “Hero Visuals”revealed in the promotional material for the upcoming third season of One Punch Man. These visuals highlight the main character Saitama and his sidekick King. Saitama is shown in his iconic yellow and red hero costume, while King is depicted in his usual street attire.
As of the time of writing this article, the release date for season 3 of One Punch Man is uncertain. It is expected to be at least a few months away, as the “monthly”pace of the Hero Visuals suggests. Additionally, given the significant role of hero characters in the series’ plot, it is likely that characters such as Bang, Fubuki, Tatsumaki, Metal Bat, and Mumen Rider will each be given their own spotlight, as they have been in previous seasons.
One Punch Man Season 3: Delay in Hero Visual Release Hints at Long Wait for Series
Despite the lack of release information, the One Punch Man season 3 announcement trailer has been streaming online for over 2 months now, much to the excitement of fans. The internet was abuzz with anticipation when the trailer was released, especially since it featured fan-favorite character Garo prominently.
The trailer did reveal the staff involved in the series during its release, with the most significant confirmation being the return of animation studio J.C. Staff. Initially, fans were disappointed by this news as J.C. Staff had also worked on the second season, which was not well-received by fans. However, they have since warmed up to the idea of the studio’s involvement.
Although the director for the series at J.C. Staff has not yet been announced, there have been confirmations for several other important staff positions. Tomohiro Suzuki, who has previously worked on the series twice before, will return as the series composer. Joining the team as a newcomer is Makoto Miyazaki in charge of the music department. Chikashi Kubota, Ryosuke Shirakawa, and Shinjiro Kuroda, who were previously mentioned, have all been officially confirmed to be working on character design.
The third season of the television anime adaptation of the original manga series, written by author ONE and illustrated by Yusuke Murata, continues the story. This manga is actually derived from ONE’s self-published webcomic, which has been ongoing since 2009.
The first season of the anime debuted in Japan in October 2015, consisting of 12 episodes that aired until December of that year. It was succeeded by a second season that was released in Japan in April 2019, also spanning 12 episodes until July of that year. The series has since experienced its longest hiatus of over 5 years before the release of its third season.
