One Punch Man Season 3 marks the highly anticipated return of Saitama and Genos, for what will be their biggest challenge yet. Here are all the details.

One Punch Man has quickly become a fan-favorite seinen. And if ONE and Yusuke Murata’s manga has become extremely popular, it’s largely thanks to its anime adaptation, which debuted in 2015.

The first season of the anime was then produced by the famous studio Madhouse, to which we owe many classics such as Monster, but also Nana, Death Note, Hajime no Ippo, Parasite, without forgetting of course the remake of Hunter x Hunter and more recently Frieren, to name but a few. A season 1 which was extremely well received, both by critics and the public, and this is why many were impatiently awaiting the continuation of the anime, which was released in 2019.

A season 2 which then brought its share of changes, since it was JC Staff who had taken up the torch. Fans have been hoping to find Saitama in a third season for several years now. In the meantime, series like Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia appeared, but One Punch Man remained a sure bet.

Now confirmed, Season 3 is the center of attention. Here’s everything you need to know about the future of the One Punch Man anime.

One Punch Man Season 3 Plot

One Punch Man season 3 is expected to adapt the Monster Association arc, as it is the next plot of the manga.

The first two seasons covered the first 85 chapters (16 volumes) of the manga. Therefore, the story is expected to pick up from the last episode of season 2, after Saitama’s victory over Great Centipede Patriarch and Garoh’s capture, diving deeper into the Monster Association arc.

The Monsters Association: A Clash of Factions

The Monster Association, led by Orochi, will remain the Heroes Association’s greatest adversary. In season 2, we saw them transform ordinary humans into fearsome monsters by forcing them to consume cells from the King of the Monsters, a process known as “monstrification” and which will have serious consequences for the entire world. And, as rumors of an all-powerful entity known as “God”begin to circulate, Season 3 promises to ramp up the action and stakes in the One Punch Man universe.

Will the King of the Monsters still play a role?

Orochi, aka the King of the Monsters, appeared as a formidable antagonist in Season 2 and is set to make his return in Season 3. Which means the stakes will be even higher for Saitama and Genos.

What about Garoh?

Garoh, a true martial arts prodigy also nicknamed “the hero hunter” , also made his debut on our screens in season 2. And if the manga is anything to go by, the antagonist is also expected to play a significant role in the season 3. His quest for power, strength and equality puts him in direct opposition to the Association of Heroes. As a survivor of the Monster Association, one can easily assume that there will be an epic clash between Garoh, aka the “human monster” , and Saitama.

A season of intense battles

Season 3 will spotlight the famous S-class heroes as they take on the Monster Association. This arc will include the introduction of Blast, the highest-ranking hero, and his mission to acquire mysterious cubes to communicate with “God” . By adding complex layers to the story, the ancient and all-powerful entity “God” will also present a formidable threat, resulting in an unpredictable and gripping plot.

And Saitama in all this?

The one we call the “Caped Bald” may not be the universe’s favorite hero, but he is for the fans. As in the manga, Saitama could stay a little more in the background, especially due to the inconvenient location of the monster headquarters, which is located under his house. But that doesn’t mean he won’t be there. Given his history, it’s a safe bet that he shows up at some point to save everyone.
