One Punch Man’s Oldest Genos Plotline May Have a Devastating Answer for Him and Fans

Currently, the One Punch Man manga is centered on the Ninjas Arc, but there is still one unfinished story arc that revolves around Genos and The Rampaging Cyborg.

At the age of 15, Genos’ town was attacked by the Rampaging Cyborg, resulting in the death of his family. As a result, Dr. Kuseno took in Genos and transformed him into a cyborg, with the intention of helping him seek revenge against the Rampaging Cyborg responsible for his loss.

Despite widespread suspicion among fans that Metal Knight or Drive Knight may be responsible, there is a One Punch Man theory that presents a different possibility. If this theory were to come true, it could potentially cause devastation for Genos and his devoted followers.

Please be aware that spoilers from the One Punch Man manga or original webcomic may be included in this article.

One Punch Man: Dr. Kuseno could be the one responsible for Rampaging Cyborg

According to a theory proposed by a One Punch Man fan on Reddit u/Draknor-dragor, ONE and Yusuke Murata may be planning a major twist in the series by revealing that Dr. Kuseno was the mastermind behind the Rampaging Cyborg.

Despite how improbable it may seem, there is reason to believe that Dr. Kuseno’s care and guidance have played a significant role in Genos’ strength and growth.

Through Genos and Dr. Kuseno’s past, it was revealed that Kuseno came across Genos after he had been tracking the cyborg responsible for attacking his town. This implies that Dr. Kuseno may have made a grave error while creating his “masterpiece,”(Rampaging Cyborg), leading to its rampage and destruction of multiple towns.

Despite the situation turning out this way, it is unlikely that Dr. Kuseno had intended for it to happen. Therefore, upon finding Genos injured, he most likely chose to take care of him as a way to make amends for his past mistakes. In doing so, Genos may have filled the void left by the absence of the doctor’s family, as seen in the original webcomic when the doctor referred to Genos as his grandson.

There is also a possibility that the individual responsible for the Rampaging Cyborg was a member of Dr. Kuseno’s family, which could explain his feelings of guilt and his decision to take in Genos.

It has been suggested by u/Draknor-dragor that Dr. Kuseno may have intentionally faked his death in the original webcomic, in order to push Genos to the brink of becoming a “Demon Cyborg”and rival his “masterpiece”Rampaging Cyborg. This alternative theory is based on the events depicted in the webcomic.

Despite Genos’s constant requests for upgrades to his destructive capabilities, Dr. Kuseno continues to focus on improving them instead of his defensive abilities, effectively turning him into a lethal weapon. It is possible that Dr. Kuseno is aware of Genos’s desire to defeat the Rampaging Cyborg, which is why he continually works on enhancing his destructive power.

Therefore, u/Draknor-dragor suspects that Dr. Kuseno is concealing something. It is possible that ONE and Yusuke Murata will steer the story towards that direction in the near future.
