ORBIT Fan Nearly Gets Fired Because Of Love For K-Pop Group LOONA — Here’s What Happened

A devoted LOONA fan, also known as an ORBIT, almost lost her corporate job due to her deep affection for the group.

On June 13, X user @qnoodledoodles, also known as Noodle, posted a picture of her desk to commemorate her first day at her new corporate job. The photo showcased two monitors with a moon and orbit design, inspired by LOONA. Noodle’s desk also displayed photo cards of two LOONA members. Her caption humorously questioned if her colleagues were aware that she was a devoted fan, or ORBIT, of the K-pop group.

The photo cards featured Gowon and Hyeju, who is also known as Olivia Hye.

Despite the seemingly innocent appearance of her desk set-up, not everyone shared the same sentiment. On June 16, Noodle received a passive-aggressive text from her manager, Kyle, expressing dissatisfaction with her cubicle and its lack of adherence to company brand standards. He requested that she make changes to the layout by the following Monday and scheduled a meeting at 2 PM. Noodle began to feel anxious about her desk arrangement and feared that her choices were being scrutinized.

However, she refused to let the situation go without addressing it. After receiving advice from her colleagues, she decided to speak to HR. Everyone was puzzled as to why Kyle was so bothered by a few photo cards. On June 17, Noodle shared that her co-worker had advised her not to remove any of her decorations.

Noodle arranged a meeting with HR to address the issue. She clarified that the photo cards on her desk were of loved ones and provided evidence of this. Fortunately, HR was supportive and only requested that she tidy up her desk and improve its organization. LOONA was assuredly allowed to remain in her workspace.

After the meeting with HR, Noodle was reassigned to a different team. Interestingly, on June 19, she shared a photo from her new cubicle, which had a similar set-up. She jokingly asked if it was obvious that she was now part of the ORBIT team.

In 2022, LOONA’s activities as a 12-member group came to an end. Chuu was the first member to leave Blockberry Creative on November 25, 2022, due to a contract dispute. In January 2023, Heejin, Kim Lip, JinSoul, and Choerry also had their contracts terminated by the label. Later on, in May, Hyunjin and Vivi’s contracts were terminated as well. Finally, in June, Haseul, Yeojin, Yves, Hyeju, and Gowon’s contracts were nullified.

Currently, Chuu is promoting as a solo artist. In September 2023, Loosesemble, which includes Hyunjin, Yeojin, Vivi, Gowon, and Hyeju, made their debut. In February 2024, ARTMS debuted with members Heejin, Haseul, Kim Lip, JinSoul, and Choerry. In May of the same year, Yves also debuted as a solo artist.
