Oshi no Ko’s latest chapter foreshadows a deepening bond between Aqua and Kana
In chapter 146 of Oshi no Ko, titled Role, the ’15-Year-Lie’ filming continued with a scene featuring the Himekawa family. Airi, after finding out about Hikaru Kamiki’s new relationship with Ai, brought up his son Taiki. She made it clear that no matter what Hikaru did, he would always come back to her. Airi also stated that with Hikaru’s emptiness and lack of hope, no one else would be able to love him.
After hearing Airi’s words, Hikaru approached Ai and inquired if she would leave him. Though Ai had feelings for Hikaru, she didn’t want to deceive him. Therefore, she honestly replied that she wasn’t sure. Realizing his predicament, Hikaru turned to Seijuro Uehara and confided in him his secret regarding Airi Himekawa and the fact that Taiki was his son.
Seijuro was consumed with anger and made his way to Airi. This was soon followed by the Himekawa couple’s tragic double suicide and Ai’s rejection. The story then shifted to the present in Oshi no Ko chapter 146, where Kana Arima entered the room to find Aqua lost in contemplation.
Upon Kana’s inquiry, Aqua opened up about how he felt consumed by his role and desired to end his life. Kana Arima handled the situation with tact, assuring Aqua that she wouldn’t be devastated if he were to pass away. In fact, she joked that she would even slap his lifeless body. However, she sternly advised Aqua to refrain from mentioning such thoughts unless he wanted her to act on her words. Moved by Kana’s words, Aqua made a promise to never speak of his death again.
Shortly after, Kana Arima surprised Aqua with a bag of Pizza Na Ko chips, a unique blend of Pizza and Sushi na Ko flavors. As Aqua savored the delicious combination, she couldn’t help but glance at Kana with gratitude. She then opened up about how she always has a great time with Kana, even in ordinary situations. Grateful for their friendship, Aqua thanked Kana before bidding farewell and exiting the room.
Kana Arima was taken aback by Aqua’s revelation. To her, the crucial aspect of a romantic relationship was simply enjoying each other’s company. Aqua’s words implied that he felt a strong connection and compatibility with her.
Despite her anger towards him for kissing his own sister for the film, she couldn’t help but feel the same way when she was around Aqua.
Oshi no Ko chapter 146 then shifted focus to Ruby Hoshino, who appeared to be stranded at a shrine in the midst of a rainstorm. Suddenly, Hikaru Kamiki appeared out of nowhere and kindly offered to share his umbrella with her.
