In Oshi no Ko chapter 156, ‘MEMe,’ Mem-Cho gave Frill Shiranui a ride in her brand new car. The manga subtly hinted to readers that despite her youthful appearance, Mem-Cho had actually obtained her driver’s license a long time ago.
As soon as the two girls set off on their car ride, Frill Shiranui revealed to Mem-Cho that a tabloid reporter was pursuing her. She was confident that the individual was tailing Mem-Cho, not her, as she had not noticed anyone following her before Mem-Cho picked her up. Frill then went on to explain how her sudden rise to fame had made her a prime target for tabloid gossip, as new stars are often the least guarded.
The tabloids employ writers who then enlist netizens to gather information on their behalf. As these individuals are not trained professionals, they frequently resort to illegal means to obtain details about celebrities’ personal lives. Reporting such actions is futile as the law does not adequately protect the privacy of these public figures.
After finding out, Mem-Cho was left pondering about what details about her could potentially cause problems. The only thing that could be considered controversial was her age, which she had falsified. As a result, Mem-Cho became paranoid, wondering who from her past may have divulged this information.
