Despite initial hopes from fans to see the resolution of Aqua and Kana’s love story, the manga’s unexpected turn in chapter 158 has shifted the focus back to Ruby, delaying the conclusion of this storyline.
As a result of this development, the manga series has come full circle, as Ruby has now shared the same experience as her mother, Ai.

Oshi no Ko Chapter 158: Ruby’s Experience of Ai’s Prologue Fate
As many fans may recall, B-Komachi lead Ai had long been striving to perform at the Tokyo Dome since her debut as an idol. Tragically, on the day of her highly anticipated concert, she was attacked and stabbed by an obsessed fan named Ryosuke at her doorstep.
Despite idolizing Ai and believing she only had a pure love for her fans, Ryosuke was unaware that she had been in a relationship with a boy at the age of 16 and became pregnant with his children.
Despite being betrayed by Ai, Ryosuke did not give up on his desire to harm her. He attempted to kill her twice, but was unsuccessful during her labor. However, he did not give up and went on to accomplish his goal on the day of B-Komachi’s performance in the Tokyo Dome, fatally stabbing and ending Ai’s life on her most important day.
Surprisingly, spoilers for Oshi no Ko chapter 158 revealed that Ruby Hoshino would face a similar fate. As Kana Arima prepared to depart from the B-Komachi idol group, Ruby Hoshino, who had recently gained more popularity, would step up as its new leader. This made the final performance of the B-Komachi live tour just as significant for Ruby as it was for Kana, the current leader of the group.
Tragically, during the last show of the live tour on December 25, Ruby Hoshino suffers the same fate as her mother, Ai, and is stabbed with a knife. However, unlike Ai, who was targeted by a vengeful fan (Ryosuke), it appears that former B-Komachi member Fuyuko Niino is responsible for Ruby’s attack.
Despite being a devoted fan, Fuyuko Niino’s obsession with Ai led her to sabotage any potential rival, even if it meant harming her own daughter. Thus, she may have resorted to stabbing Ruby in an attempt to prevent her from surpassing Ai’s success as an idol, just as she had done when Ai was the leader of B-Komachi. Despite the different motives, both mother and daughter ultimately faced the same consequences as idols.
