Oshi no Ko: Season 2 Announces Release Date with New Key Visual and Trailer

On Sunday, May 26, Oshi no Ko Anime Expo 2024 revealed exciting updates for fans of the series. Among the announcements were the release date for Oshi no Ko season 2, accompanied by a stunning key visual and trailer. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, July 3, 2024, as that is when Oshi no Ko season 2 will officially premiere.

The previous season of the anime featured Aqua and Akane starting a romantic relationship. As a result, they, along with Kana and other characters, were chosen to be a part of a 2.5D drama adaptation of the popular manga series Tokyo Blade. This laid the foundation for the 2.5D Stage Play Arc in the anime’s upcoming second season.

Oshi no Ko season 2 set to release in July 2024

On Sunday, May 26, 2024, at Oshi no Ko Anime Expo 2024, the release date for the second season of Oshi no Ko was announced. The highly anticipated second season is scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 11 PM JST, airing on TOKYO MX and ABEMA. The newly revealed key visual and trailer were also unveiled during the event.

The key visual showcases the characters of the series dressed in their costumes for the 2.5D Stage Play. It also includes Ruby Hoshino and Mem-Cho, who will play important roles in the upcoming season but will not be appearing in the stage play.

The trailer showcases scenes from the upcoming story arc, focusing on the importance of rehearsals in Oshi no Ko season 2. However, it is not until Taiki Himekawa joins the rehearsals that they truly come to life. Additionally, Melt Narushima is reunited with his former acting partner Kana Arima, promising an exciting moment for fans.

In addition, the upcoming anime will also feature two new characters, Goa and Abiko Samejima, who will be voiced by Daisuke Ono and Ayane Sakura respectively. Daisuke Ono is known for his roles as Sebastian Michaelis in Black Butler and Kudo in My Hero Academia, while Ayane Sakura has previously voiced characters such as Minami Fuyuki in Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable! and Ochako Uraraka in My Hero Academia.

The voice actors made sure to communicate to the anime’s fans that they dedicated themselves to their performance, while also remaining faithful to the characters as envisioned by manga creators Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari.

Furthermore, the opening theme song for Oshi no Ko season 2, titled “ファタール”or “FATALE”in English, has also been revealed with details. The song will be sung by GEMN.
