The rivalry between Akane Kurokawa and Kana Arima was established by the anime at the end of its first season, and it has been a prominent theme since then. The two of them have known each other since childhood and have always seen each other as rivals. In terms of the story portrayal, the anime episode stayed true to the events depicted in the manga. However, they added their own interpretation of certain past events, expanding upon the scenes.

Some of the scenes portrayed Akane’s childhood as a budding actress, where she studied Kana Arima’s acting and ate peppers under the belief that Kana enjoyed them. Moreover, the anime depicted Akane’s exploration of human psychology as she attempted to comprehend Kana’s actions.

Regarding Kana, the anime unveiled some of her past projects and the challenges she faced while transitioning from a child prodigy actor to one who was easy to collaborate with.

Despite concluding, the anime also hinted at the fact that Aqua Hoshino had watched Kana Arima’s music videos from the past, bringing joy to the Aqua-Kana shippers. Although this addition was not essential, it served to please the fans of the couple.
