The ninth episode of season 2 of Oshi no Ko, titled “Dream,”was broadcasted on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 11:00 pm JST. This episode focused on the performances of Akane and Kana as the Tokyo Blade stageplay came to an end.

Despite Aqua’s success in shining a spotlight on Kana’s acting abilities, he also manages to leave a lasting impression in the final scenes with his emotionally charged performance. While Aqua’s portrayal is incredibly powerful, it is not fueled by a passion for acting, but rather by channeling the negative emotions stemming from Ai’s death into his character.

As the episode neared its conclusion, Aqua and Himekawa were finally able to have a private conversation. In this conversation, Aqua disclosed that they were actually related by blood, a revelation he arrived at after conducting DNA tests on all of their fellow cast and crew members.

The ninth episode of Oshi no Ko season 2 starts with a flashback to Aqua’s early years, during which Ai commends his remarkable acting abilities. The narrative then returns to the present as the Tokyo Blade stageplay continues.

During the clash, Toki (Aqua) bites Blade (Himekawa) in the midst of their confrontation. Despite fighting barehanded and landing a hit, Toki is ultimately overpowered by Blade. Tsurugi (Kana) takes note of Aqua’s performance and is impressed by the genuine emotion and intensity portrayed in his acting. She commends his authentic portrayal.

In his internal monologue, Aqua reminds himself to channel his dark emotions and suffering into his acting. He recalls the traumatic scene of Ai’s death and realizes that he can use his rage and sorrow to enhance his emotionally charged performance.

In the midst of this, Blade manages to defeat Toki and bring an end to the war. Despite the seemingly hopeless state of Saya Hime (Akane), Tsurugi proposes utilizing her sword scabbard to heal her. This revelation unveils the fact that before her demise, Saya Hime had selflessly healed not just her allies but also her adversaries.

As they used the scabbard to bring her back to life, Aqua realized that this was her attempt to end the war. Reflecting on how he wished the same miracle could have saved Ai, he channeled his bittersweet emotions into his acting and delivered a final standout performance as the stageplay came to an end.

Oshi no Ko: Season 2 Episode 9 – Improving Acting Skills and After-Show Party

In episode 9 of Oshi no Ko season 2, Akane’s friends from the reality show commend her performance after the play, but she brushes off their compliments, feeling inferior to talents such as Himekawa and Kana.

Feeling overwhelmed, Kana tears up as she expresses her determination to improve. Suddenly, Ruby enters the room where Kana is taking a break. Despite her exhaustion, Kana opens up to Ruby about her acting career, confessing her desire to improve and humbly admitting that she is not a natural talent.

Kana commends Akane’s exceptional performance in the final scene, recognizing that she possesses a captivating technique that cannot be replicated. Additionally, Kana highlights how Akane’s acting elevated Aqua’s performance in the same scene.

At another location, Kindaichi and Kaburagi engage in a discussion about the cast’s acting abilities. Kaburagi expresses his astonishment at Kana’s talent, remarking that her portrayal impressed him and gave off a strong “star quality.”

As the audience leaves the venue, Raida observes their expressions and notices their happy faces, a clear indication of the play’s success. While exiting, Gotanda reflects on how while this play may have ended, another one is beginning for a different production.

During the scene, Aqua is depicted sitting in the restroom with numerous DNA samples from the cast and crew of the stageplay. After a successful month-long run, the stageplay comes to an end. The cast shows their gratitude to the audience, with Abiko joining in and clapping enthusiastically. GOA is satisfied with her response.

At the after-show party, Aqua takes the opportunity to talk to Kindaichi in hopes of learning more about Lalalai’s past and gathering information about his father. Although Kindaichi is hesitant to share details, Himekawa encourages Aqua’s inquiry as they both share a curiosity about the subject.

In the concluding moments of Oshi no Ko season 2 episode 9, Himekawa and Aqua bring Kindaichi to a secluded location in hopes of uncovering more information about Lalalai’s past by getting him intoxicated. As they talk, Himekawa discloses that she was raised in an orphanage.

Kindaichi notes that he and Aqua have a similar approach to acting. Unfortunately, he becomes intoxicated and passes out before they can gather any information. While Himekawa apologizes for the failed attempt, Aqua confesses that his true intention was to have a one-on-one conversation with Himekawa.

The episode ends with Aqua questioning Himekawa about their father’s identity, after he presents her with a DNA test report that reveals they have the same father.
