Oshi no Ko Season 2 Finale Update: Fans Left Disappointed and Furious

Oshi no Ko Season 2 has left fans feeling disappointed once more, as the anime series has faced yet another delay ahead of its finale.

This season of Oshi no Ko has experienced a turbulent journey. While the anime has garnered acclaim for its stunning animation and faithful adaptation, the release schedule for this season’s episodes has been riddled with problems.

The latest setback involves a four-day delay for Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode 13, which will now premiere on Sunday, October 6, 2024, instead of the originally scheduled October 2.

Doga Kobo, the animation studio behind Oshi no Ko, announced the change after Episode 12 aired. Although the reason for this shift was not specified, many fans speculate that the rescheduling of the series’ finale to Sunday coincides with the premiere of Re:Zero Season 3.

The highly anticipated isekai anime is set to start its run in Fall 2024 on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, featuring a special 90-minute premiere episode. This new timing has caused Oshi no Ko Season 2 to be pushed to a Sunday slot.

Some fans have criticized the studio for poor scheduling management, voicing their concerns over two delays within a single season. The first delay in Season 2 occurred before Episode 10, which was postponed by a week. Furthermore, the idol anime faced similar scheduling issues during its first season.

At this stage, these remain speculations, though fans are understandably frustrated. One user expressed on X, “These delays are really starting to annoy me.”

“I suspect production issues as well. This episode had too many fade-ins and slideshows,” commented another fan, referring to Re:Zero Season as a possible cause for the scheduling conflict.

“This week’s episode felt slow compared to the last; some manga scenes were just voiceovers, clearly showing a drop in quality,” added a third. “I really hope they make the final episode exceptional; it’s scheduled for prime time in Japan.”

While the postponement of the Oshi no Ko Season 2 finale has dampened enthusiasm among viewers, anticipation for Episode 13 remains high, particularly following the shocking reunion in the last episode.
