Some NBA2K25 players have expressed their disappointment with 2K for reducing the amount of VC earned through playing MyCareer and other modes, with some describing the changes as unfavorable.
If you’ve spent more than 10 minutes playing an NBA2K game, you’re aware of the fact that VC is king. This in-game currency is essential for purchasing packs and players in MyTeam, leveling up your MyPlayer in MyCareer, and buying cosmetic items, among other things.
It is possible to use real-world money to purchase bundles of VC by putting your hand in your pocket. However, players have always had the alternative of earning some through grinding games in various modes, without having to spend any money.
Despite it being the early days of 2K25, players are already criticizing 2K for seemingly decreasing the amount of free VC available.
According to Redditor logan069, the amount of VC that can be earned simply by playing the game has been reduced. They expressed their dissatisfaction by stating that playing a 25-minute MyCareer game only earns them 900 VC. Additionally, the VC rewards for completing season quests have been decreased from 10k to 2.5k compared to the previous year. It appears that everything has been nerfed and players are now receiving less VC.
VC is what makes everything happen in NBA 2K.
The idea was quickly picked up by other players as well. “It’s disappointing to see dailies reduced to 500 and weeklies to 2500.: (“one player commented. “I’m not surprised. It won’t be long until we can’t earn any VC from playing,”another player chimed in.
“The change has greatly diminished my enthusiasm for the game. My usual strategy is to purchase the first build and then earn the rest through grinding. However, with the new system in place, I was able to create 15 builds with just the $50 I spent on the first day. This year, it doesn’t seem like that will be a viable option,”another player expressed on a Reddit forum discussing the recent update to the game’s virtual currency earning system.
Some people even proposed a boycott on purchasing VC until 2K implements certain changes.
While it is doubtful that they will make alterations, there are still opportunities to earn VC within the game. Simply take advantage of the daily spins, participate in the quizzes on 2KTV, and, of course, utilize Locker Codes.
