In addition to the “Big 4″entertainment companies in the K-pop industry (namely HYBE, JYP, YG, and SM), there are several other reputable mid-sized agencies, including Cube Entertainment.
Despite being home to notable artists such as (G)I-DLE, Cube is continuously experiencing the departure of its artists, leading to a growing sense of crisis.
In October 2023, the agency faced a loss of 5 members from boy group PENTAGON, namely YeoOne, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok, as their contracts expired. The following month, Hongseok also left, along with 6 members from the well-known boy group BTOB.
In January 2024, Na In-woo, known for his role in “Marry My Husband,”also ended his contract with Cube Entertainment. Following suit, CLC’s Seunghee also departed from the agency in March of that same year.
In a matter of months, both 2AM’s Jo Kwon and “Produce 101″star Yoo Seon-ho have also parted ways with Cube Entertainment, following the end of their respective contracts with the agency.
This indicates that in a span of only 9 months, Cube Entertainment has experienced the departure of 16 artists, causing concern.
