Overlooked Hand Cannon: The Perfect Companion for Still Hunt in Destiny 2

An underappreciated weapon, introduced in the expansion The Final Shape for Destiny 2, has finally received the recognition it was due.

Bold Endings is a Pale Heart destination weapon and belongs to the Heavy Burst archetype, just like Warden’s Law. It was released together with The Call, Someday, and No Hesitations.

Despite the Stasis Kinetic’s strength and popularity in both PvE and PvP, it became less prioritized.

In contrast to its Strike-only counterpart, Bold Endings can be crafted and offers a wide range of versatile perks, making it a strong choice for the current meta, regardless of your preferred side of the sandbox.

Having a Darkness-aligned primary is crucial for Prismatic Hunters, as their special slot is occupied by Still Hunt, which remains a strong choice even after being nerfed. This allows for a consistent build-up of Transcendence.

Best Bold Endings roll for PvE

Bungie
  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
  • Magazine: Tactical Mag
  • Perk 1: Headstone
  • Perk 2: Dragonfly
  • Masterwork: Reload Speed

Due to its naturally high Range stat and slow Reload Speed, the latter is the optimal choice for Bold Endings’ Masterwork in PvE situations.

Headstone and Dragonfly complement each other, with the former generating Stasis crystals through precision kills and the latter triggering elemental explosions. Additionally, Dragonfly has the ability to independently Shatter the crystals created by Headstone.

Best Bold Endings for PvP

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
  • Magazine: Accurized Rounds
  • Perk 1: Rapid Hit
  • Perk 2: Moving Target
  • Masterwork: Reload Speed

The modifications made are minimal, as Reload Speed and Arrowhead are still deemed valuable in Crucible. Headstone and Dragonfly have been substituted by Rapid Hit and Moving Target, respectively, as PvP prioritizes Range and Aim Assist.

The Hand Cannon is a strong choice for competitive PvP, but its true potential is seen in PvE as a necessary addition to any Prismatic build that does not use The Call as its special weapon. The weapon’s Origin Trait, Dealer’s Choice, awards extra Super energy upon landing final blows, making it a valuable tool for generating resources alongside Transcendence.
