Overwatch 2 April 30 balance patch set to adjust Venture, Orisa and more

The upcoming Overwatch 2 patch on April 30 will include balance adjustments to Venture, Orisa, and damage heroes upon its release.

As the well-anticipated Season 10 of Overwatch 2 progresses, the current meta has been heavily influenced by the powerful tank Orisa. However, a shift in the meta may soon occur.

On X, Lead Hero Designer Alec Dawson validated that a group of modifications would be implemented on April 30 through a patch.

It should be noted that the upcoming changes to the damage hero Venture, Orisa, and the passive for the DPS role have not been disclosed. However, based on the current state of the game, it is reasonable to assume that Orisa will receive some adjustments.

Orisa is likely getting nerfed a bit in the next patch.

For a significant amount of time, Orisa has been a staple in the meta, with the only exception being when Mauga was released in an overpowered state. Orisa’s reliable damage output, ability to withstand attacks with Fortify, and utility through her Javelin abilities have contributed to her long-standing presence in the meta.

Therefore, there are numerous areas that can be considered, particularly in regards to increasing her vulnerability to being killed compared to her current state.

It is currently difficult to predict the potential of Venture. As the game’s latest hero has not yet been used in professional play, players are still learning how to effectively use and counter them. It is possible that we may see some improvements to make them more viable and encourage players to choose them more often.

Ultimately, the DPS passive will also undergo modifications. At present, attacking with a DPS character reduces the amount of healing the target receives, which has been well-received in the community. The details of the update are uncertain, but there have been requests from players to make the passive less effective against tanks specifically. Therefore, we will have to wait and see what the developers have in store.

The changes for Overwatch 2 are typically published at 2pm EST/11am PST, so we will have them available for you here as soon as the notes go live.
