Overwatch 2 Armor Glitch: Heroes Easily Survive Ultimate Abilities

A new bug has been identified in Overwatch 2 that impacts the armor of certain heroes, enabling them to endure powerful enemy ultimates much more easily.

Overwatch 2 is an extensive game featuring a diverse roster of heroes, numerous maps, and various interactions. As such, Blizzard faces the complex task of maintaining game balance, ensuring no hero becomes overly powerful or weak. Additionally, they must protect the game from disruptive bugs that can arise.

Given the vast nature of this hero shooter, bugs are inevitable. These can range from minor visual glitches to significant issues that temporarily disable heroes while developers work on solutions.

Currently, another major bug has emerged, which allows specific heroes to withstand ultimate abilities without difficulty.

At present, the bug primarily affects Brigitte and Rammatra, as the armor they receive through their abilities functions differently from standard armor. This allows them to negate ultimates such as Junkrat’s Riptire and D.Va’s Self Destruct with ease.

Community testing indicates that the armor acquired from Brigitte’s Rally and Rammatra’s Nemesis Form reduces damage by 50% instead of the usual flat 10 damage reduction. This significantly increases their effective health against massive damage instances, such as the aforementioned ultimates.

Initially, Overwatch 2’s armor was supposed to reduce damage by 50%, but this mechanism was modified in Season 10 as part of various balance changes. However, it appears that both Rammatra and Brigitte remain unaffected by these changes, allowing them to enjoy the substantial benefits of the armor.

This situation poses a significant concern, as heroes like Pharah, Reaper, and Junkrat inflict considerably less damage than expected to an ulting Brigitte and a Nemesis Form Rammatra. It has notably disrupted the current balance of Overwatch, necessitating a prompt response from the developers to address this issue before it escalates.
