Each Hero in Overwatch 2 has a unique backstory that intertwines with the greater Overwatch universe. Below are brief bios highlighting each Hero’s origins and affiliations:
Well
Ana is one of the founding members of Overwatch and serves as Pharah’s mother. Renowned as one of the deadliest snipers globally, she also holds numerous accolades from her military service in Egypt.
Ana’s rifle has the dual function of healing allies while inflicting damage on enemies.
Ashe
Ashe leads the Deadlock Gang and is a respected figure in the criminal underworld. Following her estrangement from her family, she formed a partnership with Cassidy (formerly Jesse McCree) to establish the Deadlock Gang.
Ashe’s companion B.O.B is an almost indestructible android that can unleash havoc on enemies.
Bastion
Bastion was irreparably damaged and remained inactive for over ten years near the Eichenwald forest. He was eventually reawakened by a bird named Ganymede, after which he was repaired by Torbjörn in Sweden.
A strategically positioned Bastion can effectively block enemy advance on objectives.
Baptiste
Baptiste enlisted in the military as a teenager. After his service, he unintentionally joined Talon, unaware of their true intentions. He has since evaded Talon with his philanthropic work as a healer.

Zenyatta is a pivotal figure in Genji’s evolution as a mobile DPS in Overwatch 2.
Hanzo

Reaper
As a soldier and officer, Gabriel Reyes was one of Overwatch’s first recruits alongside Soldier: 76. His turbulent relationship with Blackwatch and Soldier: 76 was tumultuous until the organization’s HQ was destroyed. Talon found him and injected him with a unique genetic compound developed by Moira, effectively turning him into Reaper.
