Overwatch 2 Community Requests a “Helpful” Feature for All Game Roles

Overwatch 2 players are advocating for a “helpful” feature currently limited to certain characters to be made available for all roles. This change could enhance gameplay for everyone.

Many players have experienced that moment in Overwatch 2 where you rush to the point, hoping to save it, only to find your teammates have already fallen. This can lead to frustration when you end up back at the spawn.

Typically, if you’re not playing as a support character, you can’t see whether your teammates are at low health or in critical condition, making it challenging to engage effectively in battles. While the game does provide options for viewing allied health bars and outlines through walls, these features do not offer complete visibility.

In a Reddit discussion, one user proposed that enabling all roles to see the health status of low health and critical allies would be advantageous.

The user illustrated their point with an image showing a D.Va silhouette in yellow, stating, “Tanks should be able to see a teammate’s health like this, just as supports can.” This addition would inform tanks if their supports are preoccupied healing others and help them decide which teammates require assistance during a fight.

Other players chimed in agreeably, highlighting that this feature could be “helpful” for all roles in the game. One user suggested providing tanks, DPS, and supports with a “toggleable option” to view health status. They remarked, “It would make picking your fights much better when coming out of spawn since then you would have an idea of how everyone’s HP is doing.”

Another user expressed a shared sentiment, saying, “I completely agree. I hate when I’m respawning as DPS, see my tank fighting, and think, ‘They’re probably about to die,’ then they don’t die. I consider going to help, then the tank immediately dies.”

An additional comment echoed that sentiment: “Everybody should be able to see team health. It would be very helpful and useful for various reasons, and there is no reason for all roles not to have this capability.”

Although it remains uncertain whether this feature will be implemented in the future, the potential for improved coordination during pushes is clear, benefiting players across all roles.
