Overwatch 2 Developer Confirms Upcoming Buffs for Reinhardt and Winston

According to Lead Gameplay Designer Alec Dawson, Reinhardt and Winston from Overwatch 2 are expected to receive buffs in an upcoming update.

Despite being a beloved hero among fans for a long time, Reinhardt’s effectiveness came into question during Season 9. Even dedicated Reinhardt player LhCloudy deemed the Tank “unplayable,”partly due to Zenyatta’s sudden surge in dominance during that time.

Although Reinhardt did receive a few buffs in Season 10, he hasn’t had as much of an impact as he did in OW1. Fortunately, players can anticipate more adjustments specifically for Reinhardt in the near future.

Despite not having experienced any major changes recently, Winston players can look forward to improvements in an upcoming update.

In an interview with streamer Spilo on June 26, Lead Gameplay Designer Alec Dawson stated that the upcoming OW2 patch will include several balance adjustments for Tanks such as Reinhardt and Winston.

Because tanks dictate the rules of engagement, the team’s goal is to enhance defensive abilities for each individual hero.

The upcoming Overwatch 2 patch will increase the damage of Reinhard’s Charge to 300, making it capable of killing most heroes. The developer has also announced enhancements to Winston’s Ultimate and Secondary Fire.

The release date for the update in question has not yet been announced for players.

This news coincides with the release of Season 11: Super Mega Ultrawatch by Blizzard on Thursday, June 20.

The Season 11 update was significant as it brought back the highly-desired Pink Mercy skin, introduced the new Runasapi Push map, and revamped the Colosseo map.

Players were delighted by the long-awaited balance changes that also nerfed characters such as Roadhog and Kiriko in the new season.

The OW2 community members commended the tweaks for improving the game’s “playability,”and it will be intriguing to see if players have a similar viewpoint once the Tank adjustments are implemented.
