After a period of silence, Overwatch 2 Game Director Aaron Keller has finally addressed the topic of new content for Venture. However, the update he has provided is not meeting the expectations of players, leaving Venture mains still waiting for what they truly desire.
Ever since their debut in Season 10, Venture has received criticism from Overwatch players for its lack of content. The character was launched without any Legendary skins and did not receive much attention, except for a brief animated short that was under a minute long.
In contrast, Juno was given a slightly different treatment. While she did not receive a full cinematic, Blizzard devoted more resources to building anticipation for her. One example of this was the inclusion of an in-game Easter Egg on Dorado, giving players a glimpse of what her character would be like.
After the release of Venture 2 seasons ago, the developers have finally taken action to address the lack of attention given to skins. However, the response from Game Director Aaron Keller, as seen in a recent tweet, has not satisfied many players.
We’ve seen a lot of talk about skins for Venture, and we also want them to have their own set of amazing skins. I can’t share too much, but we have a really exciting skin coming out for them in S14. We think it’s something you’re really going to dig!

Aaron has confirmed that Venture skins are currently in development, but they will not be released until Season 14. With Overwatch 2 Season 12 set to launch on August 20, 2024, it appears that we still have a considerable amount of time before they are available.
On average, seasons last for 60 days and, although this time frame may vary slightly, it indicates that Venture will not receive a high-effort cosmetic until the end of 2024 or possibly even as late as 2025.
With their release on April 18, 2024, Venture will be without a Legendary skin for nearly a year after its launch. In contrast, every other Overwatch character was launched with a minimum of two Legendaries.
One player claimed, “That is absolutely unacceptable, lol.”
“Venture was released 2 seasons ago and now you’re telling us we have to wait an additional 2 seasons?”expressed another person in disbelief. Those who have been eagerly anticipating more Venture content will now have to wait even longer.
Some are eagerly anticipating what the Overwatch team has in store, with speculation that they may receive a Mythic skin right away.
It remains uncertain if Juno will be released without a Legendary skin. However, in the event that she does have cosmetics available upon launch, players will undoubtedly have additional inquiries regarding the status of Venture.
