Overwatch 2 Developers Reveal Buffs to Junkrat, Wrecking Ball, Junker Queen & More

The Overwatch 2 team has revealed that they will be implementing a series of buffs in the mid-season patch, which will include specific adjustments for Wrecking Ball and Junker Queen.

The upcoming Overwatch 2 patch on May 14 will include a number of enhancements for tanks, aimed at improving their ability to withstand damage. These improvements include reduced headshot damage, decreased knockback, and additional self-healing capabilities.

Nonetheless, according to a recent blog post by Game Director Aaron Keller, the developers have further plans in store for certain other heroes.

Keller states that Junker Queen’s Commanding Shout will receive a beneficial improvement, allowing it to be triggered while other abilities like Rampage or Carnage are being used. Additionally, its cooldown will be reduced to 12 seconds.

Wrecking Ball’s mini-rework at the beginning of the season has also gained positive attention. The hamster’s fully-charged Grappling Claw damage has been increased from 50 to 60 and will now also immobilize enemies for an additional. 25 seconds.

Wrecking Ball is getting even more buffs.

Modifications are also being made to his Minefield ultimate. The mines’ explosion damage will be raised from 130 to 165 and their knockback will be extended from 5 to 10 meters.

Finally, it has been confirmed by Keller that Junkrat will be receiving minor buffs along with three other heroes. This is exciting news for fans of the underpowered DPS character who have been eagerly awaiting some adjustments to the unique damage dealer for several months.

Additionally, he mentioned that Echo and Hanzo would also be receiving enhancements, although the developer did not disclose the specific details of these buffs.

The scheduled implementation of these changes is set for May 14, meaning that players will still have two weeks to wait for the update. During this time, tank players will need to remain patient as the new DPS passive continues to cause them frustration.
