Fans of Overwatch 2 are urging Blizzard to adopt Fortnite’s latest update to their in-game shop, which would give players the ability to purchase previously released skins.
Blizzard has been making efforts in recent seasons to enable players to purchase skins that were previously exclusive, particularly the Mythic skins that were previously only available through the Premium Battle Pass.
Instead of having to complete the entire Battle Pass, players can now simply acquire the necessary Mythic Prisms to purchase it from the store. This update allows players to accumulate Prisms and use them to buy desired Mythic skins, whether they are from future or past releases.
However, the modification excludes numerous other limited Battle Pass skins, a concern that Fortnite is addressing, and Overwatch 2 players are also advocating for.

It has been announced by the developers of Fortnite that players will now have the opportunity to purchase items from past Battle Passes in the in-game shop. This option will become available 18 months after the corresponding Battle Pass has expired, allowing players to acquire skins that were previously exclusive.
The player shared the update on the Overwatch subreddit and inquired about whether Blizzard should incorporate a comparable feature, to which the community responded with an overwhelming desire for it.
“I have no problem with that. It’s like how skins used to be released for purchase after one year, so the same should apply for Battle Pass items,”a player suggested.
Some individuals noted that in Overwatch 1, a majority of the skins were only available during certain seasons, leaving very little exclusive skins. This means that if you were unable to obtain a Halloween skin, you would have to wait until the following year to acquire it.
Furthermore, it was debated that as the Mythic skins, which were considered the most valuable items in the Battle Pass, had been updated to allow for acquisition at any point in time, it only made sense that other skins should also be made non-exclusive.
According to a commenter, anything that eliminates FOMO is beneficial. They believe it is necessary for this change to occur because they want access to certain voice lines. They find it absurd that they are unable to obtain these voice lines simply because they did not play at a specific time.
