An Overwatch 2 player hired a real-life music coach to enhance their skills in playing the in-game piano, and the coach surprisingly agreed to provide a full lesson.
One of the most fascinating aspects of Overwatch 2 is the presence of functional pianos within the gameplay. Found in the Circuit Royale and Paris maps, these pianos feature complete minor and major keys. However, players should note that there are no pedals included, so expectations for using sustain should be tempered.
Since the introduction of Paris in 2019, many players have unironically performed full songs on these pianos. Notably, one dedicated fan has spent 659 hours mastering it, despite lacking real-life piano skills.
So, if you’re looking to improve your Overwatch piano abilities, you can either grind solo, or consider a different approach. One player decided to hire a real-life piano coach to see how they could help, and the experience turned out to be surprisingly beneficial.
An Overwatch YouTuber, Javofo, engaged a piano teacher through Fiverr, only for the coach to be bewildered upon encountering the in-game piano.
Once Javofo explained that the piano is indeed functional, the instructor went on to adapt a music sheet so that Javofo could perform it in-game.
Since players can only play one note at a time, the teacher had to convert the chords into individual notes for Javofo to play the songs effectively.
After some practice, the YouTuber successfully played a simplified version of When The Saints Go Marching In, along with several other tunes.
Interestingly, Javofo actually owns a piano, much to the amusement of the teacher. However, Javofo acknowledged that he did learn a few valuable tips from the lesson.
