Despite previous efforts to improve its matchmaking system, Overwatch 2 is once again facing criticism as a player recently discovered a quick play match filled with bots.
While playing a quick play game in Overwatch 2, a player was surprised to find that their entire team and opponents were actually bots instead of real players. They took to Reddit to share their experience and express their concerns about the state of matchmaking in the game.
The player uploaded a screenshot of the match and shared the replay code for others to view. They also wrote a caption on the Reddit post expressing concern about the increasing number of bots in the game. They mentioned that they have been reporting bots they come across, but the issue seems to be getting worse.
Upon being asked if this was a private game, the original poster confirmed that it was a quick play match and disclosed their lowest rank of Silver 1.
It was noted by other Overwatch players that the bots present in the match, as well as in other OW2 matches, have difficulty inflicting damage.
Upon discovering that one of the bots in the OP game was a Junkrat with zero damage, a fellow OW2 player commented with confusion, stating, “I fail to comprehend how this is possible, considering the bot’s inability to land a single hit throughout an entire game. Perhaps it should be removed entirely.”
Additionally, someone else stated that “whenever I start the game, I am matched with bots.”
Blizzard has been actively addressing matchmaking problems within the game. The developers have recently announced significant changes to the matchmaking system in order to resolve the queue delays that have been affecting the game throughout season 10.
Despite the passage of time, several crucial issues continue to persist in the game even today.
