Overwatch 2 players call for D.Va nerfs as Tank dominates Season 12 leaderboards

After observing D.Va’s high ranking on the console leaderboards of Overwatch 2, fans eagerly anticipate the implementation of balance adjustments for the Tank hero.

Despite receiving a nerf in the August 20 patch, D.Va remains one of the most formidable characters in Blizzard’s 5v5 hero shooter. Players have continued to observe her dominance in comparison to other Tanks.

The strength of D.Va was highlighted in a Reddit post which shared screenshots of the top 500 console leaderboards, revealing that 36 out of 40 players had her as one of their top heroes.

The original poster inquired about the opinions of the playerbase regarding whether D.Va was too powerful and if any balance adjustments were necessary for Season 12 and future seasons.

The majority of the responses expressed the same opinion that this Tank hero is significantly stronger than most other heroes, with one player specifically pointing out D.Va’s main problem.

“They elaborated, stating that she excels in all aspects. She possesses exceptional mobility, powerful burst damage, substantial armor, the ability to nullify ultimate attacks, and even when her HP is depleted, she has a second chance to survive.”

The playerbase was already accustomed to Season 12’s exacerbation of the Tank issue, as patch updates had given them even more dominance in the meta.

Another response mentioned that she is a unique character who possesses exceptional strength at any level. They went on to describe how D.Va consistently dominates her enemies and achieves team wipes with her Ultimate, regardless of her rank.

Some comments also pointed out that all of the items in her kit cause excessive damage. “If she’s going to run me over with her car, at least let me hitting the windshield do some damage,”one comment suggested.

Players believe that D.Va is not the only hero in need of balance adjustments. Many have expressed their dissatisfaction with the “unfun”buffs given to Sombra, and Lifeweaver’s changes have also been deemed “annoying.”
