Overwatch 2 players elated as Season 11 nerfs finally make game “playable” again

“The recent nerfs in Season 11 of Overwatch 2 have been receiving praise from players as they have made the game much more enjoyable to play. The decrease in strength of two specific heroes has been the primary reason for this celebration.”

The long-awaited Season 11 has finally arrived, bringing an abundance of exciting content to Overwatch 2. The addition of Runasapi has breathed new life into the Push game mode, while Colosseo has undergone a major overhaul. Cassidy’s abilities have also received significant updates, and a brand new limited-time game mode has been introduced, providing plenty of new experiences to enjoy.

Amidst all of this, numerous heroes have experienced alterations, with the majority of the update focusing on improving underperforming characters. Additionally, heroes such as Sojourn have received adjustments to diversify her gameplay.

Despite players rejoicing at the sight of their nerfs, Roadhog and Kiriko are perhaps the biggest victims of the balance changes.

In the Season 11 update, Roadhog’s survivability was significantly reduced as his health was decreased from 650 to 600. Additionally, Take a Breather’s damage reduction was lowered from 50% to 40%.

Despite Kiriko’s Swift Step cooldown increasing by one second, what stung the most was that Suzu could no longer cleanse hard knockdown stuns caused by Reinhardt’s shatters, Mauga’s stomps, and Sigma’s Accretions.

In a Reddit post on the Overwatch forum addressing the changes, numerous players expressed their joy and humor, stating “Overwatch is now playable”. The majority of players were in agreement that these nerfs were necessary.

“Although some may take offense, many believe that the nerfs to Kiri should have been implemented a long time ago. This change has managed to satisfy both ends of the spectrum,”a player commented on the nerfs. Other supporters also noted that the change was primarily for the benefit of Reinhardt mains.

Indeed, LhCloudy, a professional player known for his expertise with Reinhardt, expressed his thoughts on the modifications, stating, “SHATTER CAN NOW BE USED AGAIN.”

Conversely, Roadhog players were also very open to the change, with one stating that it does not completely eliminate the hero, but instead “disciplines inexperienced hog players”who overly depend on their healing to stay alive.

Despite not receiving a nerf to his damage, it is still important to remain cautious of Roadhog’s hook. Many players have continued to mention how he can still punish poor movement.
