Overwatch 2 Season 12 is set to launch on August 20, introducing an exciting new Battle Pass featuring an array of skins and cosmetics to earn. This latest update will also showcase the highly anticipated Hero, Juno, alongside a potential crossover with World of Warcraft.
As with every season, fans are eager to discover the theme and which Hero will be honored with a Mythic skin. Here’s everything we know about the Overwatch 2 Season 12 Battle Pass so far.
Overwatch 2 Season 12 Battle Pass Theme
The overarching theme for Season 12 has been revealed as ‘New Frontiers,’ following the official trailer release on August 14, 2024.
Despite the name suggesting a cosmic vibe, this season will deliver the much-anticipated Egyptian theme that Blizzard hinted at working on in 2023. The skins featured in the Battle Pass are intricately designed around Anubis and Egyptian mythology, including the coveted Mythic skin.
Mythic Skin & Other Cosmetics in Season 12
This season, Reaper will receive the exclusive Mythic skin, named ‘Anubis Reaper,’ while Ana will have a brand new Mythic weapon skin. The introduction of Mythic weapon skins began in Season 11 with Reinhardt’s Bound Demon Hammer, allowing players to utilize these skins across any character.
Reaper’s design draws inspiration from Anubis, the Egyptian God of Death, with customization options available to transform him into Ra, the Sun God. Similarly, Ana’s new weapon skin will feature dynamic transformations, complete with updated effects and sounds during gameplay.
To obtain these Mythic skins, players must collect Mythic Prisms throughout the Overwatch 2 Season 12 Battle Pass and exchange them for their chosen skins. Accessing the Mythic skins requires purchasing the Battle Pass, which also brings a variety of new skins for other Heroes. For a closer look at these skins, check out the trailer below:
