A few maps for Overwatch 2 were hinted at with the launch of Season 13, with fans potentially preparing to dive into a long-anticipated ocean-themed city.
Season 13 of Overwatch 2 officially kicked off on October 15, introducing a revamped Sombra, map modifications, and a variety of balance adjustments.
One of the maps undergoing a makeover was Numbani, which saw alterations in its architecture, providing players with increased strategies for capturing the initial point.
Interestingly, a change that slipped under the radar (not documented in the patch notes or mentioned by the developers) is the introduction of two new location posters displayed in the spawn room. As past occurrences suggest, this likely hints at new maps on the horizon.
The first featured location is Atlantic Arcology, which has previously been shown on the train routes of both Midtown and Esperanca.

According to Lifeweaver’s background on the Overwatch website, Atlantic Arcology is described as “a self-sustaining scientific and ecological city situated in the Atlantic Ocean, liberated from any nation’s governing laws.”
The concept of an underwater map has been met with enthusiasm from both the player community and developers alike. During the early design phase of Overwatch, when it was still being developed as Titan, concept art featured a grand underwater map named Galapagos.
In a livestream back in 2022, Game Director Aaron Keller reminisced about the map, stating, “I’ve always thought it was incredibly cool. Even when we began brainstorming Overwatch, we discussed the possibility of resurrecting this map.”
The second poster, representing Morocco, displays a sprawling futuristic city along with what appears to be a towering structure. However, the specifics of this map and its relation to the central tower remain unclear, resembling the KOTH map Lijiang Tower.
As of now, the game modes associated with these new maps remain unknown, but based on the trend where previous location posters have pointed towards forthcoming Overwatch 2 maps, it’s likely we won’t have to wait long for further details.
