The Summer Games event is back in Overwatch 2, bringing with it the much-loved game modes of Winston’s Beach Volleyball and Lucioball. Players can once again enjoy the thrill of these seasonal favorites!
End Date for OW 2 Summer Games 2024
This year, the Summer Games will kick off on July 9, 2024, and wrap up on July 30, 2024. During this period, players can take part in unique challenges to earn exclusive rewards.
Understanding Winston’s Beach Volleyball
Winston’s Beach Volleyball is a temporary game mode that features two teams of three players competing against each other. To win, players must earn ten points before the time runs out.
Scoring a point requires players to land the volleyball on the opposing side of the net using only their character’s melee attack. Once your Ultimate ability is fully charged, you can initiate your Ultimate Play, enhancing your character’s speed and power to strike the ball.
- Playable Heroes: D. Va, Winston, Ashe, Cassidy, Echo, Genji, Hanzo, Junkrat, Pharah, Soldier: 76, Sombra, Symmetra, Widowmaker, Baptiste.
Players have a quick 30 seconds to send the ball over to the other side!
Dive into Lucioball
Lucioball transforms the traditional football experience into a futuristic arena where players can utilize Lucio’s abilities to control a massive bouncing ball. Team up in groups of three to score more goals than your rivals before the timer expires.
This mode restricts players to Lucio as their character, while the matches take place in one of three vibrant arenas: Estádio Das Ras, Sydney Harbour Arena, or the Busan Stadium.
Explore Lucioball Remix
In Lucioball Remix, the familiar gameplay gets an exciting twist with multiple balls appearing on the field. This mode does not feature replays for any scored goals and introduces “bonus balls, ”which award three points when scored.
The match concludes when the time runs out or when one team achieves a 20-point lead.
Utilize the green launch pads to jump higher, adding another layer of strategy to your gameplay!

Completing all challenges from the Summer Games 2024 event can earn you a total of 50, 000 Battle Pass XP, along with three exclusive sprays and three unique player icons.
In addition, Overwatch 2 Season 11 has introduced a collaboration with Transformers and launched the new Quick Play: Hacked mode. Players can expect to unlock fantastic exclusive skins during this limited-time event available for two days starting on July 15.
